Initial setup
Place the AMX switch and AMX user stations in the desired locations. Rack mounting brackets are included with the AMX switch for easy installation.
Connecting power
Ensure that all power to the AMX switching system is powered off. Attach the supplied power cord to each AMX switch and each AMX user station. Attach the other end of each cord to an AC power source.
Connecting to the LAN
Attach a UTP cable to the Network port on the AMX switch. Attach the other end of the UTP cable to the LAN.
Connecting the user station to the AMX switch
Attach a UTP cable to one of the two RJ-45 ports on the user station. Attach the other end of the UTP cable to a numbered RJ-45 user port on the left side of the AMX switch. Repeat for each user station in the switching system.
Connecting a server to the AMX switch Choose an appropriate IQ module and insert the connectors into the corresponding ports on the server. Attach a UTP cable to the RJ-45 port on the IQ module. Attach the other end

Connecting a local server to the user station (optional)
Choose an appropriate IQ module and insert the connectors into the corresponding ports on the server. Attach a UTP cable to the RJ-45 port on the IQ module. Attach the other end of the UTP cable to an available RJ-45 port on the user station.
Connecting the keyboard, monitor and mouse
Attach the monitor cable to the appropriately labeled port on the user station. Attach a keyboard and mouse to the appropriately labeled PS/2 or USB ports on the user station.
Connecting audio and serial periph- eral devices (optional)
Attach the stereo speakers and microphone cables to the appropriately labeled ports on a supporting user station, if desired. Similarly, attach a serial peripheral device to the serial port on a supporting user station, if desired.
NOTE: To use the stereo speakers, microphone or serial device, the AMX switching system must include a user station and IQ module that support audio and serial emulation.

Installation

Installation initiale
Placez le commutateur AMX et les consoles utilisateur AMX à l’emplacement choisi. Le commutateur AMX est livré avec des supports de montage en rack facilitant son installation.
Connexion de l’alimentation
Assurez-vous que le système de commutation AMX est hors tension. Reliez l’une des extrémités des cordons d’alimentation fournis au commutateur et à la console utilisateur AMX.
Reliez l’autre extrémité de ces cordons à une source d’alimentation en courant alternatif.
Connexion au réseau local
Reliez l’une des extrémités d’un câble UTP à la voie réseau du commutateur AMX. Reliez l’autre extrémité de ce câble au réseau LAN.
Connexion d’une console utilisateur au commutateur AMX
Reliez l’une des extrémités du câble UTP à une des voies RJ-45 de la console utilisateur. Reliez l’autre extrémité de ce câble UTP à une voie utilisateur RJ-45 numérotée du côté gauche du commutateur AMX. Répétez cette procédure pour chacune des consoles utilisateur du système de commutation.
Connexion d’un serveur au commutateur AMX
Choisissez un module IQ approprié et insérez les connecteurs dans les voies correspondantes du serveur. Reliez l’une des extrémités d’un
câble UTP à la voie RJ-45 du module IQ. Reliez l’autre extrémité de ce câble UTP à une voie serveur RJ-45 du côté droit du commutateur AMX. Répétez cette procédure pour chacun des serveurs du système de commutation.
NOTA : Certains modules IQ disposent de connecteurs audio et série qui peuvent être détachés du serveur si cette fonctionnalité n’est pas requise.

Connecting power to the DSR switch
Power down all servers that will be part of your DSR system. Locate the power cord that came with the DSR switch. Plug one end into the power socket on the rear of the DSR switch. Plug the other end into an appropriate AC wall outlet.
Connecting the local port
Plug your VGA monitor, keyboard and PS/2 mouse cables into appropriately labeled DSR ports.
Connecting a DSRIQ module to the DSR switch
Choose an available port on the rear of your DSR switch. Plug one end of a CAT 5 cable (4-pair, up to 10 meters) into a numbered port and plug the other end into the RJ-45 connector of a DSRIQ module.
Connecting a server to the DSRIQ module
Plug the DSRIQ module into the appropriate ports on the back of the server. Repeat this procedure for all servers that are to be connected to the DSR switch.
Connecting network and remote users
Plug a CAT 5 cable from your Ethernet network into the LAN connector on the back of your DSR switch.
Network users will access the DSR switch through this port.
