The Bourbon Reforms and the River Plate economies. Change and continuity Gelman y Moraes
This paper analyzes the main economic changes experienced by the River Plate area under the Bourbon reforms. It contemplates a diverse range of quantitative data to suggest that there was a process of general economic growth. This process had different starting points in different territories and economic sectors, and only with one major exception, appears to have been widespread during the final decades of the Eighteenth century, though not sustained everywhere in the first decade of the Nineteenth century.
