The Deer Valley Computer Science Education Committee (DVCSEC) worked with higher education leaders, industry, parents and PreK-12 educators to adopt the vision and concepts of the K12 CS Framework for Computer Science Education.

The Deer Valley Computer Science Education Committee (DVCSEC) collaborated with higher education leaders, industry, parents and PreK-12 educators to create the . International Society for Technology (ISTE) and the Computer Science Teachers Association's operational definition of computational thinking. The operational definition provides a framework and vocabulary for computational thinking that will guide PreK-12 teachers in Deer Valley Unified.

Fisher moved that the Board accept the Board's recommendation to approve Consent Agenda Items 8.A through 8.G. The board authorized the administration to enter into additional sole source contracts for the 2016-17 fiscal year. On January 13, 2017, the Board of Trustees approved a trip for Deer Valley High School students to attend the Leadership Reaction Course in Prescott, AZ.

The board approved travel for students from Sandra Day O'Connor High School to attend the L.A. Fisher, and asked the board to accept the administration's recommendation to approve the human resources changes. Fisher noted that the board accepted the administration's recommendation to approve the 2015-16 Arizona School Facilities Board (SFB) Preventive Maintenance Plan.

Fisher moved that the board approve the nomination of Ron Bayer for the 2016 Arizona School Boards Association Honorary Award. Fisher moved that the board accept consideration of the Arizona School Boards Association bylaw amendment proposal.

That the Board of Trustees accept the recommendation of the Board to approve donations on behalf of the District in the amount of $11,174.31. Description - Attached is a list of assignment compensation for duties assigned to all County staff for the current year. Non-IBN supplements are prepared and approved by each superintendent and are typically paid from non-M&O funds such as: state and federal grants, e-school funds, student activities, gifts and donations, tax credits, city center , community schools, bookstore/athletics, etc.
