• En una raza en particular de yeguas y en un programa comercial de transferencia embrionaria a gran escala, la edad de la yegua donante afecta la RE, la incidencia de MO y la duración de los IOI, pero no el PR después de la transferencia.
• La longitud de los IOI influye en el resultado del lavaje posterior. A medida que el IOI fue más corto, se redujo la RE. Este efecto se observó solamente en potrancas y yeguas jóvenes.
• Existen yeguas subfértiles dentro de las 3 categorías estudiadas, sin embargo en el grupo de yeguas viejas el porcentaje de estas yeguas duplica al porcentaje hallado en los otros dos grupos.
CAPITULO II
• Las yeguas jóvenes subfértiles presentan menores intervalos interovulatorios que las yeguas viejas.
• Las yeguas viejas tienen mayor susceptibilidad a presentar endometritis bacteriana bajo programas contínuos de recuperación embrionaria que las jóvenes sub-fértiles.
• Las concentraciones de progesterona plasmáticas al día 8 PO son similares en ambas categorías.
• Las tasas de recuperación embrionaria son afectadas de manera similar en yeguas jóvenes sub-fértiles y yeguas viejas.
• La posibilidad de ocurrencia de ovulaciones múltiples son similares en ambas categorías.
• Los embriones recuperados de ambas categorías no difieren en estadio de desarrollo en ninguno de los días estudiados.
• Los patrones de inflamación de biopsias endometriales difieren en los grupos, presentándose células indicadoras de inflamación crónica en el grupo de yeguas viejas.

• La cantidad de receptores de progesterona en el endometrio y su inmunoreactividad al díia 8 post-ovulación es similar en yeguas viejas y jóvenes subfértiles. Sin embargo, en las yeguas viejas se observa un patrón de distribución diferente que en las yeguas jóvenes, encontrándose una mayor cantidad de receptores de progesterona y expresando una mayor inmunoreactividad en el epitelio luminal.
• Los embriones de los dos grupos de estudio se encuentran expuestos a similares niveles del estrés en estadios tempranos del desarrollo.
Como se describió en esta tesis en la categoría de yeguas jóvenes existe un 25% de yeguas subfértiles, mientras que en la categoría de yeguas viejas este porcentaje se duplica. De acuerdo a la revisión bibliográfica el envejecimiento celular es considerado como el disparador de los mecanismos fisiológicos que desencadenan la subfertilidad en las yeguas viejas. Sin embargo, en esta tesis, las yeguas jóvenes subfértiles presentaron patrones fisiológicos reproductivos similares a las yeguas viejas, lo cual indica que el envejecemiento celular no seria el único disparador de la subfertilidad y que existirían otros factores que podrían estar contribuyendo a esta última.
Finalmente, podemos concluir que, la yegua jóven subfértil comparte con la yegua vieja condiciones reproductivas patológicas, que hasta el momento, debido a las características de los diseños experimentales previos a este trabajo, no habían sido consideradas como objeto de estudio.
