Professional education faculty demonstrate scholarly work in their fields of specialization. They are engaged in different types of scholarly activity, based in part on the regional mission of Delta State University. Following the NCATE visit in 2001, faculty engaged in a number of initiatives to improve the level of scholarly activity across the unit. A Research/Publications committee was established, Brown Bag Lunches for sharing scholarly activities were initiated, a regional education journal was sponsored, and professional development was provided to support faculty improvement in this area. Total productivity for all faculty within the College of

Education has improved significantly over the past three years as shown in Table 34 below:
