Steam turbine parts transportation and storage
Transportation to the Kalkata harbor and preservation for overseas transportation is under responsibility of DSPW as the steam turbine producer be achieved according to Purchaser requests written in contract. To reach the minimal costs, the turbine producer recommends to follow these measures:
Ø Dispatch (if it is possible) the components as the pre-assembled wholes – or the whole casing in closed form. On the one hand there are limitations of the producing plant DSPW in Plzeň for transport of components from the workshop: weight of components less then 125 tons, width of components less then 5 m, height of the main gate of workshop is 5,4 m. On the second hand there are limitations given by the site (overhead crane in the machine hall, access roads).
Ø Dispatch the parts preserved and packed for overseas transportation. A limitation is given by transport distance and climate, conditions at assembly workplace and warehouses, time schedule of works. For the good function of the preservation means after unpacking it is necessary to provide at the workplace and in warehouses the relative air humidity between 40 – 50%, stable temperature, the minimal dustiness and airflow.
Ø DSPW producing plant is not capable for storage of turbine parts; parts of the turbine MTD70 will be dispatched immediately after the preassembly and transport preparation to the harbour in approx. 1 month. “Just in time”
dispatching according to the site needs is not possible.
The components for the Bandel - India 210 MW project is applied preservation for the overseas transportation and storage in warehouse Type 3 and with sufficient package for transport from the producing plant in the Plzen to the Kalkata harbour. It is recommended
Doprava a skladování dílů turbiny:
Za dopravu do přístavu Kalkata a konzervaci pro zámořskou dopravu dílů zodpovídá výrobce turbiny DSPW dle požadavku objednatele uvedených ve SoD. Pro dosažení minima nákladů doporučuje výrobce turbiny aplikovat následující opatření:
Ø Odeslat (pokud je to možné) díly jako předmontované celky – případně celé těleso v zavřeném stavu. Omezením jsou jednak podmínky výrobní základny DSPW pro vyvezení dílů z dílen: hmotnost dílu do 125 tun, šířka dílu max. 5 m, výška vrat dílny 5,4 m. Jednak podmínky na staveništi (jeřáb strojovny, přístupové cesty).
Ø Odeslat díly konzervované a balené pro zámořskou dopravu. Omezením je dopravní vzdálenost a klima, podmínky na montážním pracovišti a skladech, harmonogram prací.
Pro dobrou funkci lehkých konzervačních prostředků je po vybalení dílů nutno zajistit na montážním pracovišti a ve skladech relativní vlhkost vzduchu 40 až 50%, stabilní teplotu, minimální prašnost a proudění vzduchu.
Ø Výrobní základna DSPW není zařízena pro skladování dílů, díly turbiny MTD70 budou odesílány ihned po kontrolní montáži a přípravě na transport během cca 1 měsíce do přístavu. Odesílání dílů „just in time“ dle potřeb staveniště není možné.
Na projektu Bandel – Indie 210 MW jsou díly opatřeny konzervací pro zámořskou dopravu a pro skladování ve skladu typu 3 a obaly vhodnými pro přepravu z výrobního závodu v Plzni do přístavu v Kalkata. Dopravené díly (v obalech) s hmotností vyšší než 10 tun je

In case that there will be need of the long term storage of delivered components before their installation; it has to be provided the correct storage method for these components in appropriate type of warehouses (type of warehouse is determined by the table in the previous chapter, warehouses description is written in table below). The possible storage period of components is specified by the producer (duration of protection effect of the applied wrapping and conservation means).

Closed-air-conditioned store
Masonry store, dust-free, dry, air conditioned room with control of temperature and air humidity. The temperature is kept in range from +5 up to +30°C (adapt to storage goods).
The firsthand influence of sun radiation and water precipitation and wind are excluded. The effect of diffused sun radiation is limited.

etc). Blinding of bottom nozzles of HP,IP outer turbine casing is done with rust-resistant foil MilCorr.
The light preservations VpCI-325 and VpCI-337 are providing reliable protection of parts for period 24 months even in warehouse of conditions type 2, but the preservation layer must not be disrupted for example by an abrasion (tarpaulin, ropes due reloading), by the flown-down water (for example condensed water on the surfaces after changing of the air temperature and humidity) etc. That’s why it is unconditionally necessary to check the parts periodically, and carry out the local repair of the disrupted preservation if necessary.
Preservation washing off:
It is not necessary to remove preservation VpCI-322 before the oil filing charging into lub &
jack oil system – the preservation does not influe the chemical parameters of the oil (it was tested).
It is not necessary to remove all preservation VpCI-325 from components before assembly (only local washing off due the measuring or welding in such place) – preservation can be contained in condensate during putting into operation.
Preservation VPCI-368 has to be wash completely off from all surfaces before assembly beginning.

Lehká konzervace VpCI-325 a VpCI-337 poskytují spolehlivou ochranu dílů až 24 měsíců i v podmínkách skladu typu 2, nesmí však být narušena vrstva konzervace např. otěrem (plachtou, lany při překládce), stékající vodou (např. zkondenzovaná voda na povrchu při změnách teploty a vlhkosti vzduchu) apod. Proto je bezpodmínečně nutné díly pravidelně kontrolovat a případně provést lokální opravu narušené konzervace.
Smývání konzervace:
Konzervaci VpCI-322 není potřeba smývat před napuštěním olejové náplně do systému mazacího & zvedacího oleje – konzervace neovlivní chemické vlastnosti oleje (bylo odzkoušeno).
Konzervaci VpCI-325 není potřeba kompletně odstraňovat před montáží dílů (pouze lokální odstranění za účelem měření nebo svařování v tomto místě) – konzervace může být obsažena v kondenzátu při uvádění do provozu.
Konzervaci VPCI-368 je nutno před montáží kompletně odstranit ze všech ploch.
