Duct tape is the ultimate tool. It was even used by astronauts to repair the lunar rover on the moon! The origin of duct tape can be
traced back to World War II, when Vesta
Stoudt, the mother of two soldiers, developed the idea of a cloth-based, waterproof tape to seal ammunition boxes. She shared her idea in a letter to President Franklin Roosevelt, who saw to it that her tape was manufactured by Johnson &
Johnson. The product was originally called “duck” tape because it was waterproof and made with what the Dutch called doek, or linen canvas.
