¡Todavía practicando la seguridad!
Limpieza y desinfección después de la misa: Para mantener el cumplimiento con las regulaciones de Covid, debemos desinfectar las bancas y otros artículos que se tocan con frecuencia después de cada misa. Se han colo-cado estaciones con desifectantes en la iglesia con guantes y baldes llenos de toallas empapadas con desinfectante. Por favor, tóme el tiempo después de cada misa para limpi-ar, póngase unos guantes y tome una toalla húmeda y lim-pie uno o dos bancos y cualquier otra área que pueda ha-ber sido tocado. No es necesario secar las bancas porque el método aprobado para secar es al aire libre. La asistencia de cada feligrés es muy apreciada ya que esta es nuestra única forma de cumplir con las regulaciones de Covid. La ocupación para cada misa se ha establecido al 25% de la
capacidad del edificio;
Hemos marcado las bancas para que mantenga el distanci-amiento social y también para regular el número de feli-greses en la Iglesia. Cleaning and disinfecting after Mass: In order to maintain compliance with Covid regulations we must disinfect the pews and other frequently touched items after each Mass. Sanitation Stations have been placed in the Church with gloves and buckets filled with hand towels that are soaked with disinfectant. Please take time after each Mass, put on some gloves and grab a damp hand towel and wipe down a pew or two and any other items that may have been touched. No need to dry the pews because air drying is the approved method. Assis-tance from each Parishioner is highly appreciated since this is our only way to feasibly comply with Covid regulations. Occupancy for Mass has been set at 25% of building
capac-ity;
We have marked the pews so that it maintains social dis-tancing and also regulates the number of parishioners in the Church. The side doors leading to the Plaza will be re-main open in order to provide air flow. So if you find your-self unable to maintain social distancing inside, please feel free to grab a chair and sit outside in the plaza area. Re-member to disinfect the chairs as you restack them. As we re-open and are given the authority to allow more
venues beyond Mass, religious education and religious ceremonies; I will announce those opportunities via the bulletin, Flocknote and our Web site. Have your Ministry’s schedules prepared and please maintain patience as we work towards re-opening.

FROM THE DESK OF FR. LUKE... DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PADRE LUKE...
Abraham was severely tested by God, by demanding the blood of Isaac. God let Abraham off the hook and rewarded him for his desire to follow the will of God. However, the Father does not let Himself off the hook does He? Out of pure Love for us, He allowed His Son’s blood to be spilled…do we recognize the Father’s generosity for us? Do we desire and live a life of faith?
Jesus’ trip up the mountain to pray with Peter, John, and James takes a rather unexpected turn. The apostles witness Jesus’ transfiguration into his full glory, which will not be ful-filled until His death on the cross and resurrection from the tomb. What is interesting about the transfiguration is that Mo-ses and Elijah are there with him and sharing in his glory. On one level of understanding, Moses represents the law and Ten Commandments; also, Elijah represents the prophets of the Old Testament. Jesus is the fulfillment and completion of the law and the prophets.
In addition to this, a covenant is being formed between the Father and Son, Jesus. The Father asserts his authority like He did with Abraham and states, “this is my chosen Son; listen to him.” The Covenant the Father makes with his son is that all who have faith in Jesus and hear him will be joined in Christ’s death.
You see, Moses and Elijah, who have died in history, are conversing with Jesus about his sacrifice on the cross and the glories of the resurrection are shown to these three apostles in Jesus and shared by Moses and Elijah. These great men of the Old Testament are enjoying the benefits of the New Testa-ment, the New Covenant of eternal life.
The Father is speaking to us that we are to listen to His chosen Son by purging ourselves of the evils in our lives during this season of Lent and embark on living lives of faith. None of us are perfect, so we all have something to purge and much more to hear from Jesus. If we take serious the Father’s advice for us that Jesus is the Son of God and listen to him, then we too will share the gift of the resurrection because we will be living in the Body of Christ, which is forever.

Abraham fue severamente probado por Dios, al exigir la sangre de Isaac. Dios liberó a Abraham y lo recompensó por su deseo de seguir la voluntad de Dios. El viaje de Jesús a la montaña para orar con Pedro, Juan y Santiago da un giro bastante inesperado. Los apóstoles son testigos de la transfiguración de Jesús en toda su gloria, que no se cumplirá hasta Su muerte en la cruz y resurrección de la tumba. Lo interesante de la transfiguración es que Moisés y Elías están allí con él y comparten su gloria. En un nivel de comprensión, Moisés representa la ley y los Diez Mandamien-tos; además, Elías representa a los profetas del Antiguo Testamento. Jesús es el cumplimiento y la consumación de la ley y los profetas.
Además de esto, se está formando un pacto entre el Padre y el Hijo, Jesús. El Padre afirma su autoridad como lo hizo con Abraham y declara: “Este es mi Hijo amado; Escúchenlo." El pacto que el Padre hace con su hijo es que todos los que tengan fe en Jesús y lo escuchen se unirán en la muerte de Cristo.
Miras, Moisés y Elías, que han muerto en la historia, están conversando con Jesús sobre su sacrificio en la cruz y las glorias de la resurrección se muestran a estos tres apóstoles en Jesús y Moisés y Elías las comparten. During Lent this year you have the opportunity to watch a number of short videos from Bishop Barron and the Word on Fire Ministries. The talks by Bishop Barron are insightful and challenging. You can learn a lot about the faith by listening to these videos. Most of them will come to your phone and you will see that they are from the parish. These mini lessons are gift. Once Lent is over our access to them will end. If you are inclined to “deep six” these, take the time to listen to at least one before your make that kind of decision. The talks are always worthwhile!

CELEBRATING THE RITES - The Scrutinies
What are the “Scrutinies”?
These very special rites are celebrated to help deliver the elect (those that are NOT BAPTIZED) from the power of sin and Satan, to protect them against temp-tation, and to give them strength in Christ, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (RCIA 141). The rites of Scrutiny are meant to uncover, and then heal, all that is weak, defective, or sinful in the elects’ hearts and to bring out through repentance all that is upright, strong, and good. Three Scrutinies are celebrated in the parish community on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of Lent, after the homily. The Scipture readings for the Scrutinies ordinarily come from Cycle A of the Lectionary: the Gospel story of the Samaritan woman at the well for the 1st Scrutiny, the Gospel story of the healing of the man born blind for the 2nd Scrutiny, and the Gospel sto-ry of the raising of Lazarus for the 3rd Scrutiny. The celebra-tions of the Scrutinies also remind the whole parish community of the need to reflect on their own sins and the need for God’s help.
The Association for Catechumenal Ministry (ACM) grants the original purchaser (parish, local parochial institution, or individual) permission to reproduce and modify this text.
CELEBRANDO LOS RITOS
¿Qué son los “Escrutinios”?
Estos ritos muy especiales se celebran para ayudar a liberar a los elegidos (aquellos que NO ESTÁN BAUTIZADOS) del poder del pecado y Satanás, para protegerlos contra la tentación y para darles fuerza en Cristo, quien es el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida (RICA 141). Los ritos del Escrutinio están destinados a descu-brir, y luego sanar, todo lo que es débil, defectuoso o pecaminoso en el corazón de los elegidos y sacar a la luz mediante el arrepentimiento todo lo que es recto, fuerte y bueno. It is easy to say, “Here I am, Lord,” when we are kneeling in church. But how easy is it to say “Here I am, Lord,” when a neighbor needs our help, when we are invited to join a parish ministry, or when we are asked to provide financial support? Often times we are called when it’s not convenient for us. Discipleship is not always easy, most of the time it will make us uncomfortable and vulnerable.
