GOD’S HEALING JUSTICEAn old expression holds that the sun-warmed stone heals. Perhaps. But
Malachi explains that only dark, sunless days are in store for those who
do not find a place for God in their lives. Conversely, he tells us that the warmth and light of God’s healing justice await those who fear the Lord. That’s a pretty comforting notion—especially now in the already short
and growing even shorter days of November. It’s the sun-warmed stone, and then some.
Paul speaks to us of justice as well, but points out that it is not a passive thing. To be treated justly, we need to do our fair share. If we are diligent and persevere we will be rewarded with and by the fruits of our labor. Lastly, Luke, too, tells us to persevere—in faith, this time—and our
lives will be secure in God regardless of how we are treated by our enemies.

PARENTS AND STUDENTS
As we move forward in this year of Faith
Formation, your child is taking a closer step towards receiving one or all the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation). What a proud moment for both parents and students. For those students who have received Baptism, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is the next step before receiving their First Eucharist or First Holy Communion, that is to say the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
For Catechumens, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be of most importance when you receive your Sacraments. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is
where we receive God’s mercy, love and forgiveness. On Thursday, November 17, 2016 we will be having a Parent/Student Reconciliation meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. This
meeting is a requirement for both parents and students. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please call the Office of Faith Formation at
361-664-0437 in advance so that other arrangements can be made.

To our Veterans
Happy Veterans Day! Today and every day. As a Parish Community we express our undying gratitude

and women. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget your sacrifices.
Presidential Elections 2016
Sometimes in the midst of headline news, uncertain times, and constant debates that affect our future, it's hard to even know where to begin.
We just know we have a deep ache in our hearts that cries out for God's mercy, and a longing to see him heal our land. But in all of the battles, defending our views, or pointing out differences, God never leaves us to fend for ourselves, wrestling with worry, consumed in fear, or tempted towards hate. He reminds us He is with us and will help us. He reminds us He hasn’t lost control, but has a plan, and His purposes will prevail.
As we move towards the Presidential Inauguration on January 20, 2017, let us continue to come together as a community of faith and pray for wisdom and spiritual guidance for President Elect Donald Trump and Vice President Elect Mike Pence.
