The Holy family Of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
The family is the cradle of civil society. Yes, no human being exists without a family. Today our generation seems to deny this truth and one would try to discard the natural family existence from the ages. Even the animal kingdom will teach us that without the animal family, there is no chance of their further existence and certain extinction from this earth is inevitable. A lone animal has no future or identity and recognition.Without the family, all humanity is homeless. Today we are experiencing a degradation of family values, we can sense that the denial of the human family has brought a radical change of human existence in our world. The feast of The Holy Family reminds us to ponder upon the very fact of family life and to promote family values in our community.
The Holy Family of Nazareth is the central focus of the importance of family. Jesus needed a family. He was born into a human family to stress what a precious gift it is from God; and to call the members of all Christian families to play their respective roles in promoting Christian family values. They share joys and sorrows, and especially love. This Holy Family Sunday makes us realize that our families will serve as the vital cells of Church and society.
The First and Second readings of this Sunday (Eccl. 3:2-6, Col 3:12-21) expresses the meaning of the family. The readings show a harmonious family life arising from mutual respect, and the maintenance of right relationships.
Good relationship, making for peace, harmony and joy makes a holy family. Saint Paul coming from a good and holy family shared his experiences saying,
“Let the peace of Christ reign over you;” “Let the message of Christ find home with you;” “do what you do in the Lord,”
to “please the Lord.”
Mercy, kindness, patience, and forgiveness are the guidelines of a holy family.I would like to stress one vital point of family life. First, what strife and meaning of family life is diminishing in our world and also in our Christian family? The challenge must be met squarely with faith and love. This faith and love are what makes a family holy, a domestic Church. Faith and love are nurtured through family prayer, encouraging one another in faith, hope and charity.
Prayer is the lifeblood of a family’s faith which drawers them closer to Christ. A family who prays together stays together!

Check Christmas presents for button batteries
Many parents will be spending the next few days and weeks assembling and reassembling their children’s gifts, and it’s important to be on the lookout for potential hazards, including button batteries. Button batteries are small, round discs used in anything from toys to key fobs to watches. If these batteries end up being swallowed or placed in a child’s nose or ears, they can cause serious damage — from electrical currents to tissue burns. Keep an eye on the power sources for the toys your children get this Christmas, and consider taking extra safety measures for anything with a button battery. For more information, visit https://www.nsc.org/home-safety/safety-topics/

Today is the feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, and so we can celebrate that we all belong to the holy family of God which makes us brothers and sisters to each other.
At Christmas this year, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul brought joy and hope to our “brothers and sisters” who are poor by providing food, gifts, and assistance with their bills. Thank you for your generosity!
