Designated use

This device is designed for private use.

The worklight is not designated for commercial use in motor vehicle workshops or other workshops, etc.

The enclosed car cigarette lighter adapter is only suitable for use in motor vehicles provided with a battery voltage of 12 V.

Not designed for trucks, boats or similar with a battery voltage of 24 volts.

Safety instructions

General instructions

• This product is not to be used by children. This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given

supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

• Do not leave persons requiring assistance to use electrical devices unsupervised. • The power supply unit must be kept out of the reach of children.

• Packaging materials such as fi lms or polystyrene are not children’s toys! Keep children away from them. Suffocation hazard!

• The lamp must not be used in an environment that is subject to fi re or an explosion hazard.

• The light is extremely bright. Never look directly into it at close range and do not shine it into the eyes of people or animals.

• Protect the worklight from intense heat, cold, strong vibrations and impact.

• In order to avoid damage to surfaces, do not slide the worklight over the surface to which it is adhered.

• Do not clean the appliance with harsh, scratching or abrasive detergents. The surfaces could become damaged.

With use in motor vehicles

Hazard from electricity

• Use power supply and lamp only in dry interior rooms. • The device must not be exposed to water.

• The worklight and power supply unit must not be immersed in water or other liquids.

• Electrical shock hazard! Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of

moisture sources, e.g. in the bathroom.

• If the appliance should fall into water or other liquid, fi rst disconnect the power plug and then remove the appliance!

• Only connect the power supply unit to a properly installed socket, with voltage corresponding to the “technical data”.

• When using an adapter plug or extension cord, they must comply with the valid safety regulations. The specifi ed maximum voltage must not be exceeded.

• Ensure that the socket is easily accessible so that you can remove the power supply unit if necessary.

• Do not use the lamp: – if it is damaged,

– if the charging cable is damaged,

– the power supply unit or car cigarette lighter adapter is damaged. • Unwind the charging cable completely prior to use. Be sure that the

charging cable is not trapped, squeezed or damaged by sharp edges or hot items.

• Disconnect the power supply unit from the socket: – if you are not charging the appliance,

– after each use,

– before cleaning or putting the appliance away, – if an obvious fault occurs during operation, – in a thunder storm.

• Do not carry or pull the device using the electric cables.

• Do not make any changes to the worklight, to the power supply unit/ cable or on the cigarette lighter adapter.

• Never attempt to open the device or penetrate it with metal objects. • Rechargeable batteries and LEDs are not replaceable by operator.

• The light and connecting lines can’t be repaired or replaced, the light has to be disposed accordingly in case of a damage.

• If the power supply unit or charging cable is damaged, discontinue use and replace with the same type of power supply unit.

Fire hazard

• Do not leave the worklight unattended when it is being charged. • Keep the worklight away from fl ammable materials.

• A rechargeable battery that has been removed for disposal must not be damaged. Fire hazard from self-combustion!

Risk of property damage

• Do not use the worklight for longer than 3 hours. As soon as the brightness of the LEDs has noticeably declined, the worklight must be charged. • Operating the worklight until the LEDs have extinguished leads to deep

discharge of the rechargeable battery. This can permanently destroy the battery.

• Be sure to switch off the worklight when not in use. • Charge the worklight prior to long periods of disuse.

Warnings and safety information for the use of products with lithium-ion batteries:

The rechargeable batteries in the light cannot be exchanged or replaced. They are not permitted to be used for operating other devices, or recharged through other devices.

the warnings below could lead to malfunction, electrical problems, excessive heat, FIRE, injury and/or material damage.

• The light may only be charged with the power supply unit supplied or with the 12 V car cigarette lighter adapter.

• The device may only be charged under supervision.

• After the device has been charged, always disconnect the light from the battery charger and allow it to cool down before use.

• Lithium-ion batteries are mechanically sensitive. They can ignite due to an internal short circuit or when coming in contact with air.

• A damaged lithium-ion battery, e.g. if the light becomes damaged, can ignite 30 or more minutes later.

• Lithium-ion batteries must never be short circuited. A battery removed for disposal can ignite due to a short circuit.

• A burning battery must not be extinguished using water, but rather with sand.

Disposal

• Also dispose of the packaging materials properly and in an environmen-tally sound manner. These are raw materials and should be recycled.

Batteries and rechargeable batteries are not permitted to be disposed of with household waste!

• Every consumer is legally obligated to submit batteries and rechargeable batteries to the proper collection center in their community, district or to retailers. All batteries and rechargeable batteries can then be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

If the device can no longer be used, submit it to a collection center for electrical and electronic waste.

Prior to the disposal of the worklight, the rechargeable battery must be removed, please refer to “Remove rechargeable battery prior to disposal”.

Damaged rechargeable batteries must be disposed of in accordance with valid regulations and ordinances.

• Keep removed batteries away from children, do not throw into fi re, short circuit or dismantle.

• If battery liquid has leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes. When coming into contact with battery acid, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clean water and immediately contact a physician. If you suspect a battery to have been swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.

Use

Recharging the battery

Do not leave the worklight unattended when it is being charged. The rechargeable battery takes around 6 hours to charge. Switch OFF the worklight while it is charging.

• Remove the rubber lip 4 _{from the socket} 5 _.

• Connect power supply connector or car cigarette lighter adapter to socket

5 _.

• Connect the power supply unit to a properly installed socket or the car cigarette lighter adapter to a live (turn ignition key to Pos. I if necessary) cigarette lighter adapter in a car.

• The charging indicator LED 7 _{illuminates red during the charging process.}

If charging with the car cigarette lighter adapter does not function, but the worklight can be charged using the power supply unit, it is possible that the installed fuse has blown. Replace the fuse as follows.

Fire hazard! Only replace it with a fuse of the same type. Check the cable

of the car cigarette lighter adapter for damage; replace the car cigarette lighter adapter, if necessary.

- Unscrew the ring on the adapter counter-clockwise.

- Replace the defective fuse with a new one of the type F0.5AL250V (0.5 A,

Switching ON and OFF

• Press the ON/OFF switch 6 _{to switch ON the worklight.}

• Press the ON/OFF switch 6 _{again to switch OFF the worklight.} The LEDs can be switched ON during the charging process.

• The worklight can be positioned using the magnet 10 _{on a magnetic surface}

or hung up by the hook 9 _.

In order to avoid damage to surfaces, do not slide the worklight over the surface to which it is adhered. If necessary, place a rag, a piece of fi lm or paper on the surface.

Cleaning

CAUTION! Prior to any cleaning, ensure that you disconnect the pow-er supply unit from the socket/the car cigarette lightpow-er adaptpow-er from the socket of the motor vehicle.

Do not use any corrosive, aggressive or abrasive detergents in order to avoid damaging the surfaces.

Only use a slightly damp cloth for cleaning the worklight, the power supply unit and the car cigarette lighter adapter.

Proper battery disposal:

• Prior to removing the rechargeable battery, disconnect the work-light from the power supply and completely discharge the battery! • Once the battery is removed, the worklight is destroyed and

can-not be repaired.

• Ensure that you wear safety glasses and safety gloves in order to avoid injuries.

It is important that you follow steps 1 and 2 to remove the battery safely.

CAUTION FIRE HAZARD! To avoid a short-circuit and thus avoid a fi re, the removal of the rechargeable batteries may only take place as described.

The battery cables must be cut separately. If the cables are cut at the same time the battery could short circuit.

Uso

Recarga de la batería

No deje la luz de trabajo desatendida mientras se está cargando.

La batería necesita unas 3 horas para cargarse. APAGUE la luz de trabajo recargable mientras se carga.

• Quite la tapa de goma 4 _{de la conexión} 5 _.

• Conecte el conector de la fuente de alimentación o del adaptador para encendedor de cigarrillos de vehículo a la conexión 5 _{de la luz de trabajo.}

• Conecte la fuente de alimentación a un tomacorriente debidamente instalado o el adaptador para encendedor de cigarrillos de vehículo a la toma del encendedor de cigarrillos de un vehículo (ponga la llave de encendido en “Pos. I”, de ser necesario).

- Desenrosque el anillo en el adaptador en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj.

- Reemplace el fusible defectuoso por uno nuevo del tipo F0.5AL250V

Encendido y apagado

• La luz de trabajo puede instalarse en una superfi cie magnética con el imán 10

Para evitar dañar las superfi cies, no arrastre la luz de trabajo recargable sobre las superfi cies a las que esté adherida. De ser necesario, cubra la superfi cie con un trapo, un trozo de plástico o papel.

Limpieza

¡PRECAUCIÓN! Antes de limpiar la luz de trabajo recargable, asegú-rese de haber desconectado la fuente de alimentación del tomaco-rriente o el adaptador para encendedor de cigarrillos de vehículo de la toma del vehículo.

Para evitar dañar las superfi cies, no utilice detergentes corrosivos, agresivos o abrasivos.

Utilice sólo un paño ligeramente humedecido para limpiar la luz de trabajo re-cargable, la fuente de alimentación y el adaptador para encendedor de cigarri-llos de vehículo.
