Eighth-Monthh Spirituall Adoptionn Update—“I Like To Listen To My Mommy’s Voice" Everything in the ba- by’s body is preparing for entry into the world. The brain and nervous system are maturing, a process that will continue long after birth. The baby’s limbs are becoming smooth and plump, and the skin is a healthy color. he fingernails are growing past the baby’s fingertips. From the mother’s immune system, the baby is acquiring immunity to many infections as the protective antibodies in the blood pass through the placenta into the mother’s blood. The immunity lasts for a few months after birth, until the baby develops resistance to illness on his own. Although the baby doesn’t actually breathe, the baby does make breathing movements to practice for the real thing and hiccups occasionally. The baby has a regular daily pattern of activity and rest. The amount of amniotic fluid reaches its maximum this month—about two pints on average. With a normal weight of 5 pounds and measuring a little more than 17 inches from head to toe, it will only be possible for the baby to turn from side to side—no more sum- mersaults! The baby will now most likely settle into a head-down position.
Next month our Respect Life Committee will have a baby shower to celebrate the births of our spiritual adopted babies that we have been praying for the last 8 months. There will be a play ‘n pack in the nar- thex marked Spiritual Adoption during the month of October. Please place your unwrapped gifts marked “Spiritual Adoption Program.” All gifts will be donated to Two Hearts Pregnancy Center in Everett. Diapers always needed and really anything and everything baby except for cribs, and car seats.

ONLINE
PARISHIONER REGISTRATION AND ONLINE GIVING
Every person’s finances and family situation is different.
Jesus makes it clear that it matters not how much one gives, but that it is planned, calculated,, at least some- what sacrificial (see Luke 24:1-4), and not simply from what is “leftover” at the end of the month.
We propose the tithe (10%) as the ideal every family can consider working towards. This means taking steps to give 5% to one’s parish and 5% to other charities, or causes you have personal passion for.
You can register online at saintbrendan.organd click on the link Online
Registration/New Parishioneron the right column.
To give online, click on the Online Givinglink at the top of the page. It’s quick, secure, convenient, and easy. Your support helps sustain our parish. If you need help with online giving, please call the Parish Office at 425-483- 9400.
