The Fourth Sunday of Lent readings invite us to rejoice by being reconciled with God, through repentance and the confession of our sins. Also, by celebrating our coming home to be with our loving and forgiving God. In the first reading, the Chosen People of God are portrayed as celebrating, for the first time in their own land, the feast of their freedom, by using wheat that had grown in the Promised Land.
Luke 15:1-3, 11-32 celebrates the joy of the prodigal son on his “homecoming” where he discovers his father’s forgiving and overflowing love. It is also the story of the rejoicing of a loving and forgiving father who celebrates the return of his prodigal son by throwing a big party in his honor, a banquet celebrating the reconciliation of the son with his father, his family, his community, and his God. At the same time, by presenting a self-righteous elder brother. The parable invites us to avoid
self-righteousness and self-justification by imitating the repentant younger brother. Let us admit the truth, that we are an assembly of sinful people who are repentant now, and ready to receive God’s forgiveness; to
experience Jesus’ Personal Presence in the Holy Eucharist as our loving and forgiving God.
As prodigal children, we face spiritual famine all around us in the form of drug and alcohol abuse, fraud and theft in the workplace, murders, abortions, and violence.
Premarital sex, marital infidelity, priestly infidelity, as well as hostility between and among people. All of these evils have proliferated because we have been squandering God’s abundant blessings, not only in our country and in our families, but also in our personal lives. Hence, let us repent and return to our Heavenly Father’s home.
All of us have gone astray in some sense and need to return to our Heavenly Father. God will surely receive us, for He is not just good but reckless in his goodness, meaning, He is the ocean of mercy. Like the prodigal son we have to go back to Him. No matter how much we are dirty, unworthy, or sinful, He will embrace us.
This coming Wednesday, March 30th, at 7:00pm, we will have our Communal Penance Service. It is a wonderful opportunity to return to our Loving Father and have the joy of being forgiven. Let us rejoice in the Lord! He is waiting for you and me.

Las lecturas del cuarto Domingo de Cuaresma nos invitan a alegrarnos por la reconciliación con Dios, mediante el arrepentimiento y la confesión de nuestros pecados.

Lucas 15:1-3, 11-32 celebra la alegría del hijo pródigo en su
"vuelta a casa", donde descubre el amor perdonador y desbordante de su padre. También es la historia del regocijo de un padre amoroso y perdonador que celebra el regreso de su hijo pródigo dando una gran fiesta en su honor, un banquete que celebra la reconciliación del hijo con su padre, su familia, su comunidad y su Dios. Al mismo tiempo, presentando a un hermano mayor santurrón. La parábola nos invita a evitar la justicia propia y la autojustificación, imitando al hermano menor hermano menor arrepentido.
Admitamos la verdad, que somos una asamblea de pecadores arrepentidos ahora, y dispuestos a recibir el perdón de Dios;
a experimentar la Presencia Personal de Jesús en la Sagrada Eucaristía como nuestro Dios amoroso y perdonador.
Como hijos pródigos, nos enfrentamos a la hambruna espiritual a nuestro alrededor en forma de abuso de drogas y alcohol, fraude y robo en el lugar de trabajo, asesinatos, abortos y violencia. Las relaciones sexuales prematrimoniales, la infidelidad matrimonial, la infidelidad sacerdotal, así como la hostilidad entre las personas. Todos estos males han proliferado porque hemos estado despilfarrando las abundantes bendiciones de Dios, no sólo en nuestro país y en nuestras familias, sino también en nuestra vida personal.
Por eso, arrepintámonos y volvamos a la casa de nuestro Padre Celestial.
Todos nos hemos extraviado en algún sentido y necesitamos regresar a nuestro Padre Celestial. Dios nos acogerá con seguridad, porque no sólo es bueno, sino que es temerario en su bondad, es decir, es el océano de la misericordia. Como el hijo pródigo tenemos que volver a Él. No importa que seamos sucios, indignos o pecadores, Él nos abrazará. Este próximo miércoles, 30 de marzo, a las 19:00 horas,
tendremos nuestro Servicio de Comunal de Penitencia. Es una maravillosa oportunidad para volver a nuestro Padre Amoroso y tener la alegría de ser perdonados. Alegrémonos en el Señor. Él nos espera a ti y a mí.

Help us to walk in their footsteps as missionary disciples.Guided by their example, may we be always faithful and courageousin proclaiming the Gospel of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Father, look upon your family here in Los Angeles with mercy.
Taught by the Word of Truth and fed with the Bread of Life, may Your Church here always seek to do Your will, and be the sign of Your love for all peoples, who are sons and daughters of God, all of us loved and desired by You, and born for greater things.
Renew us and strengthen us, and cleanse our hearts.By Your grace, may we follow Jesus with joy and holiness of life,

Understanding appropriate behaviors

Most children engage in age-appropriate behaviors, exploring their bodies to understand how they work. It is important for parents and caregivers to understand the difference between natural, healthy curiosity and inappropriate behaviors that would raise red flags suggesting possible abuse. Any sexual behaviors that a child exhibits in a way that is hostile, aggressive, or overtly sexual should raise concern.
