SUMMER MASS ATTENDANCE
If you are going to be traveling, please do not forget
to attend Mass. A helpful website to locate the

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
All public school children should be registered for
Religious Education beginning in September. Please
bring Baptismal Certificate, birth certificate if not
Baptized and $60 registration fee per child, $100
per family. Religious Ed will be held on Saturday’s
at 2:00 p.m., followed by Mass at 4:00 p.m. All
parents must accompany children to Mass. This is
mandatory as is a monthly parent Faith Formation
workshop to assist in home Catechesis. Registrations
will take place, Monday’s Wednesday’s &
Thurs-day’s from 9am-11am, as well as every Sunday in
July and August from 9am -1pm. If you have any
questions, please contact Mr. Oscar Aviles, Director
of Religious Education at (718) 931-4040 ext. 102.
RCIA - AGES 18 AND OVER
Anyone over the age of 18 who would like to receive
their sacraments, please contact Mr. Oscar Aviles, at

VOLUNTEER CATECHISTS NEEDED
Volunteers are very much needed to assist in the
2017-18 Religious Ed program. Married couples are
also needed to act as facilitators and God Parents to
the families in the Religious Ed program. Please
contact Mr. Oscar Aviles at ext. 102, if you are
interested in volunteering.
BAPTISM / WEDDING REGISTRATIONS
Baptism registrations will be taken in the vestibule
after the 12pm Mass or any weekday in the Rectory.
Please bring child’s birth certificate. We encourage
couples who are civilly married and couples thinking
of marriage to stop by the rectory and speak with
Fr. Anderson. Thank you.
PROPER ATTIRE FOR MASS
Out of respect for Our Lord and for the edification
of our neighbors, we beg men and women, boys and
girls to appear in church modestly and respectfully
dressed. Shorts, tank tops, low-cut, backless, and
mini-dresses, halters, bare midriffs, tight fighting
clothes, etc. do not meet the norm of Christian
modesty and/or respect. Your cooperation is
evidence of your love for Our Lord present in the
Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle and for His
Most Holy Mother, Mary. Thank you!
FEAR NOT
How do people find hope in the face of suffering
and death? That is the question addressed by today’s
scriptures. We hear of the suffering of Jeremiah and
the psalmist. We hear of the death that “reigned
from Adam to Moses” (Romans 5:14). We hear of
the fears of the Twelve as Jesus sends them out into
the world to preach and heal.
Through all this tribulation one message rings
out loud and clear—“Do not be afraid!” The God
who saved Jeremiah and the psalmist and Jesus is
fully present to save us through the gracious gift of
Jesus Christ. We have nothing and no one to fear.

ASISTENCIA A MISA EN EL VERANO

REGISTRACIÓN PARA EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA
Todos los niños de la escuela pública deberían ser registrados para la Educación Religiosa que comienza en septiembre. Por favor traiga el Certificado de Bautizo, certificado de nacimiento si no estan bautizados y $60 para inscripción por niño, $100 por familia. ¡NO TENGAN MIEDO!
¿Cómo es que las personas encuentran paz frente al sufrimiento y la muerte? Ese es el mensaje de las Escrituras de hoy. Escuchamos el sufrimiento de Jeremías y del salmista. Escuchamos de la muerte que “reino desde Adán hasta Moisés” (Romanos 5:14). Escuchamos de los miedos de los Doce cuando Jesús los envió a las periferias para predicar y sanar.
En medio de toda esta tribulación hay un mensaje que suena fuerte y claro: “¡No tengan miedo!” El Dios que salvó a Jeremías y al salmista y a Jesús está plenamente presente para salvarnos por medio del extraordinario don de Jesucristo.
