NUEVA DELHI.- El primer ministro indio, Narendra Modi, se entrevistará con el presidente del Gobierno español, Mariano Rajoy, durante la visita oficial que realizará a España entre el 30 y el 31 de mayo, la primera de un gobernante de la nación asiática en casi 30 años.
El primer ministro, que será recibido por el rey Felipe VI, llegará proveniente de Alemania para mantener una intensa agenda, en la que también tiene previsto encabezar una reunión con representantes empresariales de ambos países, informaron fuentes diplomáticas.
En esa reunión habrá representación de compañías como Airbus, Gamesa, Talgo, Navantia, Indra, CAF, Abengoa o Acciona, así como de las indias Mahindra
Aeroespacial y Defensa, Suzion Energy, Sun Pharmaceuticals o Telcon, entre otras. Modi llega a España en la primera visita de un primer ministro indio desde que en 1988 lo hiciera Rajiv Gandhi y en un momento en que ambas partes consideran óptimo para impulsar unas relaciones políticas y económicas que pueden ser más amplias, según reconocen fuentes diplomáticas de los dos países.
La intención de la India y España era inicialmente que la visita se hubiera realizado el año pasado, cuando se cumplían 60 años de las relaciones bilaterales entre los dos países, pero el momento político en España impidió el viaje.

New Delhi, 25th May.- The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, will hold a meeting with the President of the Spanish Government, Mariano Rajoy, during the official visit he will make to Spain between 30th and 31st May, the first visit of a Leader of the Asian Nation in almost 30 years.
El Prime Minister, who will be received by King Felipe VI, will arrive from Germany with an intense agenda, in which he has also planned to lead a meeting with business representatives of both countries, as informed by diplomatic sources.
The meeting will be attended by Spanish companies such as Airbus, Gamesa, Talgo, Navantia, Indra, CAF, Abengoa or Acciona, as well as the Indian companies Mahindra Aeroespacial y Defensa, Suzion Energy, Sun Pharmaceuticals or Telcon, among others.
Modi’s visit to Spain will be the first one of an Indian Prime Minister since Rajiv Gandhi’s visit in 1988, and it comes at a moment that both countries consider as optimal to promote the political and economic relations, so they can become broader, as acknowledged by diplomatic sources of both countries.
Initially it was India’s and Spain’s intention to have held the visit last year, during the celebration of the 60 years of bilateral relations between both countries, but the political moment in Spain prevented the trip.

Talgo manufacturers will most probably meet in Spain.
NEW DELHI: High representatives of Talgo, Spanish trainer of light trains, hope to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Spain on 30th May.
In a tripartite test carried out last year, the trains of Talgo recorded a maximum speed of 180 km/h in the route between Mathura and Palwal, and covered the distance between Delhi and Mumbai in 11 hours and 48 minutes.
The meeting with the PM seems to be essential for Talgo, as the Spanish company would like to join the Indian railway sector, according to Government sources.
Modi will embark on a six-day tour around Russia, Germany, Spain and France, starting on the 29th May.
The Prime Minister will leave from Germany to Spain in the evening of the 30th May. He will meet the President of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, and will discuss bilateral issues and issues of mutual interest.
As part of the programme, the Prime Minister will have an audience with the King Felipe VI of Spain. He will also have a round table with the main Spanish business leaders who wish to invest in India.
Indian Railways is exploring possibilities of a lease contract to operate the light and efficient trains of Talgo to reduce travel time between subway stops.
The Talgo trainers can negotiate bends and go up hills at a much faster speed tan the Indian conventional trains.
Indian railways had conducted a first test of the Talgo trains in the section between Bareilly and Moradabad, and the second test was carried out between Palwal and Mathura.
The Spanish train Talgo completed its final test on 11th Septimber 2016 between Delhi and Mumbai in less than 12 hours at a maximum speed of 150 km per hour.
