Years ago, while becoming interested in books, magazines and other sources to increase my knowledge, I receive a special gift from Scott Hadley. So the quote on the notebook changed my perception of the world and even myself. As I read books Professor Scott gave me, I discover the hidden world of the few who long to learn and be aware of their own origins, that is, literature and history.
Without Professor Scott Hadley, I wouldn't even be able to stand in front of a group of teenagers, adults, or even life itself. The first time I walked into his classroom was certainly another dimension listening to Professor Scott talking about other cultures, languages, music, movies, books, stories that were not from his own nation was absolutely amazing. I was afraid of being another brick in the wall, but I'm not anymore, and I'd like to thank everyone Scott Hadley for showing me the beauty of learning while reading.

While using mobile phones, computer programs, playing online games and surfing the web are new trends for all English speakers. Because of the interaction with the learner, these resources and tools seem more appropriate and suitable to meet the needs of English Language Learners (ELL) and to develop the foreign language. In fact, the level of English proficiency of students is very important in English Language Teaching (ELT).
This is a mixed research because it is focused on understanding the topic; it is also considered a subjective research as it does not generalize the whole process of English language learning. Furthermore, at the end of their degree, they will apply for a certification in English language, where their skills will be measured. This thesis can help people who want to take a look at how vocabulary learning affects the skills of English Language Learners (ELL).

6 The aim is therefore to present that language consists of 'combined words', which allows for better fluency in language acquisition (Lewis, 1997). This phenomenon is called 'lexical chunk'. The British Council (2019) believes that focusing on lexical chunks in the classroom leads to students mastering the foreign language. Physical Response Physically perform a new word to increase its meaning or understanding of the word.
In Ebner and Ehri's (2013) research, findings showed that Internet tools facilitate students' vocabulary acquisition due to variable contexts. Vocabulary growth can be exposed as a process of self-learning tasks due to the learner's metacognitive choice (Gu, 2003). As for a strategy that turned out to be efficient and indirect, it is "Free Reading". In Folse (2004), who cites Graves (1987) concludes that in addition to all the efforts made in a school by teachers, students must learn independently.
The order of the four skills may differ depending on the test you take. In addition, brief descriptions of the most important and common tests for certifying English in the CEFR were provided to show how language proficiency is related to the learning resources students use.

- Summary of the chapter
The cross-sectional study is intended as a snapshot of a group of individuals and is only conducted with fewer instruments. There are four instruments in this study; they are all applied face-to-face to each participant; the interview (instrument 1) involves an individual interaction and the answers are open-ended while being recorded; questionnaire (instrument 2) will be applied in paper form. The instruments are explained later in this chapter and the results obtained will be useful in answering the research questions.
They all want to be future English teachers, so their opinions and experiences will be relevant because they will focus on teaching and thus language skills with vocabulary growth. First, instrument 1 (Appendix A), which is an interview, will be used face-to-face and participants will be recorded to capture their open-ended responses. Note that participants will be asked for their permission to be recorded while performing Instrument 1.
The purpose of it is to gather and see if English is going to be part of the students'. This instrument consists of a reading segment taken from the book The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury (1951), and the selected story is "The Last Night of the World." The reading will be included as a previous vocabulary test, where the students have to read it and later they have to answer Instrument 4. After Instrument 4 part 1 is finished, the five students will receive a sheet of paper with a list of all unknown vocabulary throughout the reading.
So here the students have to express whether they could understand the text or not. Then the second part will be answered after the participants read the segment again. Here, the collected results will be analyzed for how important vocabulary is in English skills.
Here the researcher will write a narrative and therefore describe the results collected from the three instruments (1, 2 and 4).

- Summary of the chapter
On the other hand, in question 4, while asking if they felt able to teach English with their current level of the foreign language, student 2 and student 4 said “yes”. Students 3 and 5 said. Instrument two was constructed to collect data on the relationship between vocabulary learning and English proficiency. From the questions and 6, all the students recognized the use of different resources that help them to improve their English level.
In the case of question 4, student 1 disagrees that it may be possible and good for her to read books because she still does not feel ready to teach the language. On the other hand, question 6 shows that 3 students who participated in the research took a language test. The data presented show that; vocabulary learning affects the score when you take and English proficiency test.
Finally, the last two instruments focused on collecting data on how important vocabulary is in a text commonly found in English proficiency tests. After completing instruments 1 and 2, instruments 3 and 4 focus on noticing the importance of how vocabulary affects when applying for an English proficiency test. Throughout the reading segment students 2, 3 and 4 could understand the text, however, as indicated in the questionnaire results, some words could be taken out of context.
We can notice that student 2 and 4 can give a synthesis of the reading segment. Although, in the case of student 1; his wise is unable to give any synthesis of it. All the participants realized that reading different types of texts would help them improve their proficiency in the foreign language.
As a result, we can consider in the TOEFL and CAMBRIDGE proficiency tests, vocabulary plays an important role in the "reading comprehension" response where each student is asked to summarize and answer questions related to the texts.

We can see how they recognized the importance of the lexicon in the second part of Instrument 4. After taking Literature 1 and 2 in the LEI major, I found it very important to increase my vocabulary while reading books on classical English literature. I really enjoyed researching this, as many students from the Facultad de Lenguas; Although they are advanced learners, they still fail in dealing with the English language.
Jones (1995) argued that VLS is an important ingredient in ELT, the subject has not been implemented and the lack of importance in the classroom creates failure of English language learners. Well, we can get some of it, it's not impossible, but sometimes we're not looking for new vocabulary. In the background, the two girls played blocks on the living room carpet in the light of the green hurricane lamps.
Sometimes it scares me, sometimes I'm not scared at all, but at peace." He peered in at the girls and their yellow hair shining in the lamplight. I didn't think too much about it the next day, but then I went to the office and caught Stan Willis looking out the window in the middle of the afternoon, and I said a penny to your thoughts, Stan, and he said: I had a dream last night, and before he told me the dream, I knew what it was. I suppose that's the trouble - we weren't much of anything but us, while a lot of the world was busy being very awful things."
I won't miss anything except maybe the change in weather and a glass of ice water when it's hot and I might miss sleeping. I suppose it is the first time in the history of the world that everybody has known what to do during the night." Why not another night in the last century, or five centuries ago, or ten?".
Maybe because there was never October 19, 1969, never before in history, and now that's it; for this date means more than any other date ever thought of; for it is the year when things are as they are throughout the world, and therefore it is the end." If the door will be closed all the way, or if it will be left a little open to let in a little light." They thought of all the other people in the world who had spent their evening, each in his own special way.
