843 Parker Field & Co. Trade Musket
.60 caliber smooth bore, 33” octagonal-to-round barrel, crown and “P” marking on the left flat of barrel at breech also has crown and “V”. Lockplate marked Parker & Field and Co and dated 1855. Large loop iron triggerguard. Brass serpent three-screw sideplate. Underneath the sideplate, the initials JM have been carved in. Brass buttplate with five screws.
Walnut stock with heavy tack decoration. The rear of stock displays several rows of iron tacks and mixing with brass tacks. The front of the stock is decorated with many rows of brass nails. The front end of the stock and barrel is wrapped with some iron wire. There are two rows of iron wire missing that was used as barrel bands. Down in the channel are two names stamped Berry and Porter; original flintlock. Barrel has been shortened during the period of use. Entire rifle has an untouched patina, including dark haloes around the tacks. The iron tacks have a nice patina that flowed onto the wood.
The wood has a well-used look. Lock and barrel with untouched evenly blended look of brown patina. This is an outstanding Indian-used trade rifle.

844 British Barnett Percussion Rifle
.577 caliber, 39” barrel, long range rear barrel sight. Three barrel bands. Lockplate marked Barnett London, with crown and tower markings in the rear of lockplate. Brass furniture with walnut stock. Barrel with grey-to-brown patina. Rear portion of the barrel behind the rear sight has some pitting and around the percussion bolster. Lockplate with a brown patina. Brass with untouched patina. Stock has some nicks and dings with a small piece of wood missing on the toe.

845 U.S. Model 1855 Springfield Rifled-Musket
.58 caliber, 40” barrel with V P and eagle on the left side at breech. Three-leaf rear barrel sight. Lockplate marked US Springfield and dated 1858. Iron patchbox.
Walnut stock with three barrel bands. Barrel is grey with some pitting around the rear sight, percussion bolster and on the top of barrel. Lock and hammer are grey with salt and pepper pitting. Stock is fair to good with some nicks and dings. Bore will clean to good.

847 Civl War “Turner” Percussion Rifle
.40 caliber, 31.25” octagonal barrel. Muzzle turned round for a loader. Markings on top of barrel “Schemann & Wirsing, Cin. O.” Owner’s name “F. Thielebein” on German silver stock plate behind triggerguard. Markings on left side of barrel “R” above markings “Hitchcock & Muzzy.” Hitchcock & Muzzy made barrels from Worcester, Ma. and Schemann & Wirsing of Cincinnati, OH more than likely assembled the gun. Has browning on all metal parts and stock retains original varnish. German silver escutcheons on stock with two browning ferules. Gun has original ramrod. Barrel contains 75% of brown finish and stock contains 93% of original finish. Retains the original distinctive ramrod and knob handle. This gun is exceptionally nice. Overall condition is very good.

846 Model 1855 Springfield Rifled-Musket
.58 caliber, 40” barrel. Lockplate marked US Springfield and dated 1860. Iron patchbox, three barrel bands, walnut stock. Barrel is grey with pitting around the percussion nipple and bolster. Lockplate is pitted and on the hammer. Maynard tape primer cover is a replacement. Stock has a used look with some nicks and dings.

848 Confederate J.P. Murray Type 11 Mississippi Rifle
.69 caliber, 33” barrel. “PRO., FCH” proof on left side of the barrel at the breech; unmarked lock. Walnut stock with original brass buttplate, original brass triggerguard. Carved initials “MC” on left side of the stock at the butt. Barrel has a deep brown patina with some pitting. Some dings in the top of barrel between the rear barrel sight and first band.
Some pitting around the percussion bolster. Lock with deep dark brown patina and some pitting blending in. Original lock and hammer. Rear barrel sight is a old replacement made of brass. Forward part of the stock has been professionally replaced, and they used original Model 1841 rifle rear band and front band. Rear portion of the stock still retains a very nice undisturbed dark patina. Saber bayonet attachment is an original made of brass. A very rare Confederate rifle.

849 Model 1861 Rifled-Musket with Miller Alteration
.58 RF caliber, 40” barrel. Lockplate dated 1863 and marked Parker Snow & Co, Meriden Conn. Top of breechblock marked WH & GW Miller Patent.
Walnut stock. All metal has a brown patina. Stock has been cleaned and repaired. A piece of wood has been placed on the left side 0.5” by 7” just above the front sidelock screw running to the first band. Also a piece of wood has been replaced behind the hammer.

.58 caliber, 33” round barrel. V P, eagle marked at breech; on the left flat at breech marked Steel. Dated 1863 on the top of barrel. Three-leaf rear barrel sight.
Brass patchbox, Brass bands, brass triggerguard. Lockplate marked Remington, Illion, NY and dated 1863. With brass-handled saber bayonet and scabbard. 90%
of the original blue on the barrel just lightly thinning. Lockplate still retains most of the case colors just lightly muted. Brass with untouched patina. Stock is excellent with mint cartouches.

.58 caliber, 40” round barrel. Dated 1863 on the top flat near breech; V P and eagle on the left flat at breech. Three-leaf rear barrel sight. Eagle on the bolster, lockplate marked US LG NY Windsor and dated 1863. Three barrel bands. Walnut stock. Excellent overall with the metal having been lightly cleaned. Rear sight still retains most of the blue. Stock is excellent with some nicks and dings. A excellent cartouche on the left flat of stock. Bore is very good.

855 Confederate Cook Brass Saber Bayonet
22.5” Yataghan-style blade. The bore diameter .925. Brass handle with grip rings that go all the way around indicative of Cook & Brothers. Push button release is intact and free moving. Very good.

854 Dahlgren Bowie Bayonet
12” blade, marked at the ricasso USN over DR over 1864. A large G G P anchor. On the reverse Ames, Mfg. Co. Chicopee Mass. Brass guard, pommel and backstrap. Nice DR cartouche in an oval on the top of the pommel. Walnut wood grip. Leather scabbard with brass tip and throat.
Markings are crisp. Blade is excellent with some very minute staining. Leather scabbard is excellent.
