Benefit rules
- Hotel accommodation booked through Multiply is for leisure purposes only.
- You may not use this benefit for more than 40 days per family member in one calendar year (January to
December). This includes bookings at African Pride Hotels Room bookings must be for a minimum of three consecutive
nights, or two consecutive nights, which include a Saturday night.
Discounts apply to the best room rate available at the time you make a booking. The rate will change depending on the season. Discounts do not apply to any specials or promotional rates.
The room rate does not include any extra expenses, like extra meals, phone calls, room service, drinks, laundry service, tourism levies, parking fees and other surcharges. Your booking is non-refundable and we will not accept any
changes.
Multiply members with a single membership are only allowed to book a single room. An additional nominal rate is charged for an extra person. This rate may vary between hotels.
Multiply members with family memberships can book a double room with a maximum of two adults per room. The hotel reserves the right to charge an additional fee for an extra adult sharing the room. You must pay the additional fee directly to the hotel.
Children under the age of 12 years stay for free if they share
a room with their parents. Please confirm at the time of reservation if the selected room is able to accommodate children.
Protea Prokard members cannot earn or spend credits on bookings at the Multiply rate.
Cancellations are allowed by calling the Multiply Travel Desk on 0861 100 155 24hrs before check-in date.
Refunds are allowed if the cancellation is done 24hrs before check-in, a death certificate or a Dr‟s note confirming hospitalization is produced. Please call the Multiply Travel Desk on 0861 100 155.
How to use this benefit – booking your accommodation
Book through the Multiply Travel Desk at least three days before you need the accommodation, by:
- phoning 0861 100 155,
- sending a fax to 012 671 8910, or
- sending an e-mail to [email protected].
You will need your Multiply client number and ID number when you make a booking.
The room rate may or may not include breakfast. Please make sure of the details to avoid starting the day on an empty stomach.
Check whether you are making a booking for a standard room, family room or suite.
Give the number of adults for each room.
If you have children, check whether the room and hotel can accommodate children.

Paying for your accommodation
Please note that you can only pay with a valid MasterCard or Visa credit card.
Changing or cancelling your booking
If you change your booking, you will be liable for paying an administration fee.
Protea Hotels‟ standard rules for changes apply to Multiply bookings. You do not get a discount on the cost charged for changing your booking.
If the new price is higher than the original, you will have to pay the difference. If the new price is lower than the original, you will lose the difference.
You are allowed to cancel your booking, but we will not refund you, unless for reasons related to hospitalisation or death (subject to proof). If you cancel for other reasons, you will have to use your booking on another date. Please note that additional costs could be involved.
The Multiply discount does not apply to the extra costs when you cancel or make changes to a booking.
General Multiply travel rules
We will always do our best to secure the best available rate for our members at any given time. However, some of our travel partners may have specials that they run from time to time, which are outside our scope and control.
You will only qualify for the Multiply discount structure that is based on the service provider‟s retail standard rate and not on the provider‟s special rate or the travel partner‟s special web fare rate.
All car hire and accommodation bookings must be made at least three days in advance.
For any combination booking (flights and/or
accommodation and/or car hire), a three-day or 14-day advance notice period will apply, depending on the nature of the booking. This can only be facilitated via the Multiply Travel Desk.
For each hotel booking, you must specify the correct number of people for the reservation.
Your booking is non-refundable and we will not accept any changes.

The Protea Hotel benefit will honour bookings that have already been made, even if your Multiply membership is cancelled.

You will no longer have access to this benefit if your Multiply membership is cancelled.
