I appeal to you today to give generously to the National
Collection for the Catholic University of America in Washington,
D.C. Catholic University is the national university of the Catholic
Church – the only institution of higher education founded by the
U.S. bishops and chartered by the Vatican. The Catholic
University of America educates clergy, religious, and young lay
men and women from every geographical region of the United
States. Here are just two ways it serves Catholic faithful
throughout the United States:
Nearly 500 Catholic parishes participate in the
University’s Parish Scholarship Program, through
which 1,521 undergraduates are nominated by their
pastors to receive annual scholarships valued at
$4.5 million; your gift helps to make our students
experience at Catholic University of America.
Through its national seminary, the University provides
graduate degrees for seminarians sponsored by
nearly 195 U.S. Catholic dioceses. Of our bishops
and cardinals, 95 have been educated at the
Catholic University of America.
Our national university is educating an important generation of
lay and ordained leaders within the United States. It is my sincere

Universidad Católica de América en Washington, DC. La Universidad
Católica es la universidad nacional de la Iglesia Católica - la única
institución de educación superior fundada por los obispos de Estados
Unidos y había sido establecido por el Vaticano. La Universidad Católica de
América educa clero, religiosos y laicos jóvenes hombres y mujeres de
todas las regiones geográficas de los Estados Unidos. Aquí hay dos
maneras en las que sirve a los fieles católicos en los Estados Unidos:
~ Cerca de 500 parroquias católicas participan en el Programa de

Coming Soon – Adult Faith Formation Opportunities
The renovation of the Bishop Fernando Isern Hall has opened up new possibilities for us to come together to study and
deepen our faith. We have tentatively called this new opportunity “Journey and Covenant (J C).” Our Journey to Christ is
life-long. Journey and Covenant is one more opportunity for us, as adults, to explore the faith on our life-long journey.
Journey and Covenant sessions will begin on Sunday, October 6, 2013 and will run through most Sundays of the
Year. Each weekend, there will be two sessions in English (starting at 9:15 and 10:30 A.M.) and one session in Spanish (starting
at 12:15 PM.). These sessions are timed around the Sunday morning Mass schedule and will last about an hour – pick up
break-fast and coffee at the Parish Hall and come over to the Bishop Fernando Isern Hall for the J C session. The sessions are open
to anyone wishing to attend.
For the first two sessions, we will share Episodes One and Two of Father Barron’s Catholicism series. In these
episodes, Fr. Barron explores Jesus, his life and teachings.
Over time, we will explore all of the Episodes in the Catholicism series as well as other solid Catholic programs to
enrich our lives as Disciples of Jesus Christ.

Pronto - Oportunidades de Formación en la Fe para Adultos
La renovación del Salón Obispo Fernando Isern ha abierto nuevas posibilidades para que nos reunamos para estudiar
y profundizar en la fe. Hemos llamado provisionalmente este nuevo "Camino y Alianza (C y A)." Nuestro Camino hacia Cristo es
para toda la vida. Camino y Alianza es para nosotros una oportunidad, como adultos, para explorar la fe en toda nuestra.
Las sesiones de Camino y Alianza comenzarán el domingo, 6 de octubre 2013 y se ejecutarán a través de la mayoría de
los domingos del año. Cada fin de semana, habrá dos sesiones en Inglés (comenzando a las 9:15 y 10:30 am) y una sesión en
español (comenzando a las 12:15 pm). Estas sesiones están programadas en todo el horario de misa de domingo por la mañana
y tendrá una duración de una hora - recoja el desayuno y el café en el salón parroquial y venga al Salón Obispo Fernando Isern
para la sesión de C y A. Las sesiones están abiertas a cualquiera que desee asistir.
Para las dos primeras sesiones, compartiremos Episodios Uno y Dos de la serie Catolicismo del Padre Barron. En
es-tos episodios, el Padre Barron explora a Jesús, su vida y sus enseñanzas.
Con el tiempo, vamos a explorar todos los episodios de la serie Catolicismo, así como otros programas católicos
sóli-dos para enriquecer nuestras vidas como discípulos de Jesucristo.
