Los reyes magos: Viaje a Jesus

Como los reyes magos, quienes buscaban a

Jesus, cuando lo lograron, habían encontrado lo

que habían buscado por todas sus vidas,

nosotros también estamos en busca del

significado de nuestra vida y de nuestra

existencia, sobre todo buscamos algo

permanente y eterno para nuestra vida individual.

Sabemos que nuestro viaje será largo como aquel de los

Reyes Magos quienes siguieron la estrella para llegar a

Jesus, pero nosotros ya poseemos el regalo de la fe en

él, el cual nos permite encontrarlos. Aun así debemos de

continuar nuestra búsqueda de él y estamos invitados a

darle homenaje a diario.

Así como la estrella guio a los reyes magos para

poder llegar a Jesus, también nosotros ocupamos un

guía espiritual y es así la divina enseñanza de Cristo.

Cuando seguimos las enseñanzas de Jesus en nuestra

vida, es así que lo encontraremos fácilmente, y el podrá

revelarse a nosotros con más facilidad. Al principio no

fue un camino fácil para los reyes magos.” Ahí en frente

de ellos estaba la estrella que estaban buscando.”(Mateo

2:9) En el camino nos encontraremos con lluvias y

tormentas que taparan la luz de nuestra fe, esto hasta

nos podrá desalentar pero debemos de continuar con

nuestro camino hacia Cristo.

Así como los reyes magos también debemos de

estar listos con regalos. El primer regalo deberá ser

aquello que aún nos está deteniendo de estar aún más

cerca de él. Entre más cerca estemos a él, mas

estaremos sanados. El segundo regalo será el viajar

hacia una ruta diferente. Estamos llamados a dejar

nuestros caminos pasados, placeres mundanos y falsas

promesas el diablo, y tomar el nuevo camino que nos

lleva a la paz y a la alegría en cristo que cualquier otro

humano no nos puede dar.

Venimos a él hoy para celebrar la Epifanía del

señor, traemos nuestros regalos de tiempo, servicio,

tesoros, nuestro amor, nuestra devoción y

especialmente ofrezcamos este año 2021, al señor para

que así nos proteja, nos guie y nos dirija. Sabemos por

fe, por los sacramentos y las escrituras que lo hemos

encontrado, aun así sabemos que aún seguimos en la

trayectoria para conocer más de él y para amarlo más.

Aún tenemos un largo camino. ¡Jesus! ¡Se nuestra

estrella de la mañana!

Magi: Journey to Jesus

Like the Magi, who were searching for Jesus, when they did, they inally found what they had been searching for all their lives; we

too, search for meaning in life and our existence, above all we search for something

permanent and eternal on our individual journey. We know we should make a distance journey like the Magi who followed the star to reach Jesus, but we already possess the gift of faith in Him which allows us to ind Him. Still, we are to continue to search for Him and we are invited to pay Him homage as the Magi did only once, but we are to do so every day.

The star guided the Magi to reach Jesus; we also need a spiritual guide and that is the Divine teaching of Christ. When we follow Jesus’ teaching in

our daily life, we will encounter Him and the more easily He will be able to reveal himself to us. It was not an easy journey for the Magi at the beginning, “There

in front of them was the star they had seen

rising.” (Mt. 2:9) It means they had seen a star but,

“as it rose” (Mt. 2:2) it became brighter and showed them the way as they journeyed. We may be ready to meet the clouds that would blot out the light of faith and make us stumble; and our darkness of faith may

even discourage us from continuing our journey towards Christ, but we must keep going on.

Like the Magi, we need to be ready to offer the gifts to Him. The irst gift would be something which is still holding us back from coming closer to Christ. The more closely we get to Him, the more we will be healed. The second gift would be traveling a different route. We are invited to abandon the old route of pleasure and worldly desire and false promises of the world and the devil; take the new route that leads us to peace and joy in Christ that no human being can give to us.

We come to Him today as we celebrate the feast of the Epiphany; we bring our gifts, of time, our

service, our treasure, our love, our devotion and especially let us offer this year 2021, to the Lord so

that He may protect us, guide and lead us.

We know through faith, the Scripture and Sacraments that we have found Him, yet we know we

are still on a journey to get to know Him better and to love Him more. We still have some distance to travel. Jesus! Be our morning star!
