And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well; he even makes the deaf hear and the dumb speak.” (Mk 7: 37)

From the Pastor‘s Desk

Dear brothers and sisters,

“He has done everything well”. That is a very powerful statement. The people after seen the healing not only saw that God has done all things good but also well. You could say isn’t it the same? I answer not at all. God has created all things to have a goodness in them- selves because they are created by Him and willed by Him. Which means that you, your sibling, your parents, me, all of us were creat- ed with a goodness in us that pulls us back to God. For this reason, St. Augustine said “Our hearts are restless until they rest in you oh Lord!” The only way for us to achieve the happiness and peace is to be in God or with God the source of goodness. Here comes the second word – well. It is not only that God has made us good but that He has done everything well. The people are saying that God did not make a mistake with what He has done with us. That means that our life, our history, our being is done well. Thus, to be able to see both things that God made us good and well, we need the help of the Holy Spirit that constantly witnesses to us that God is on our side and helping us every step of the way.

I hope after the storm of last week, all are doing fine, the basement of the rectory got flooded, and we are working to remediate.

Please be careful in this time. Remember that

our End of Summer Parish BBQ is on September 12 from 1 to 5 pm. We will be selling our Thanksgiving 50/50 Raffle during the BBQ.

Keep safe and have a good return to school. Please take a bulletin for more information.

Saint Francis de Sales Pray for Us!

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

“Ele fez tudo bem”.

Aí vem a segunda palavra - bem.
