As Pastor of Maria Regina Catholic Church, I want it

all parishioners.

As the old saying goes, "United we stand; divided we

Si no podemos dar tesƟmonio concreto del amor de
Cristo en nuestras vidas, entonces, sin duda, somos sal que se ha vuelto desabrida. Nuestro sabor y nuestra influencia se han perdido. Qué diİcil es recuperarlos de nuevo. A fines de la década de 1940 el movimiento cristóforo empezó en Estados Unidos. El lema de los cristóforos: “Es mejor encender una vela que maldecir la oscuridad”, atrajo a muchos a través del uso eficaz de los medios de comunicación, los anuncios y la inspiración de sus miembros para proclamar a Cristo en el lugar de trabajo. Jesús nos llama a ser esa vela y a ponerla en el lugar más visible. Jesús, que trajo la vida eterna al mundo, nos dice que nosotros también somos la luz del mundo. Mediante nuestro mundo y nuestras acciones tenemos que dejar que nuestra luz brille ante todos para que al ver nuestras buenas obras, todos puedan glorificar a Dios.

Attention All Volunteers
Protecting God’s Children Awareness Session
In accordance with the Los Angeles Archdiocese requirements Maria Regina Church continue the on–going education program in the prevention of children sexual abuse. All Employees and volunteers (that have not attended yet) are required to attend this sessions. There will be a English session on February 15, 2014 from 1:00pm—4:00pm here at Maria Regina in the Parish Hall everyone is invited. If you are interested in attending the session please call the office or if you have any question please feel free to call the office for more information.

Invitation for New Altar Servers
If you have received your First Holy Communion and would like to become an Altar Server, we are having a class on Monday February 10, 2014 from 7pm to 8:30pm. There are server positions available for the Saturday 5:30pm masses and the Sunday 8:00am
masses. Servers should be able to follow directions, recite prayers from the mass, and have appropriate dress clothes (black slacks, black shoes, girls may wear appropriate dresses).

Together In Mission 2014 A Time for Reflection
This week, you are asked to read and reflect upon the Together in Mission materials that you received today.
Together in Mission provides substantial financial support to 35 parishes and 52 schools in our Archdiocese. These parishes and schools provide education, ministry and a Catholic presence for tens of thousands of our sisters and brothers.
Sometimes it is difficult to envision how your pledge can help so many people. But, it does. To see how, please review the materials and read the statements of those whose parishes and schools receive support.
The theme of the campaign is “Love never fails.” 1Cor 13:8 Together in Mission provides an opportunity to show our concern for those served by the parishes and schools that need your financial support.
If you received your pledge form in the mail, please complete it and mail it back or bring it to Mass next weekend. Also, we will conduct our annual Together in Mission in-pew pledge process at all Masses next weekend and the following weekend.
As always, what you give should be given in gratitude and thanksgiving for what God has given to you. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and generous response.
