ORDINARY TIME

Called together in one hope and sharing one Lord, one faith, one baptism, we come to worship on this Lord’s Day that the Holy Spirit may form as one body, one spirit in Christ. Beginning today, and throughout the month of August, Jesus teaches us that he is the bread of life that came down from heaven, and that the bread he gives is his flesh for the life of the world. As we celebrate today’s Eucharist, let us humbly welcome this gift and ask Jesus to make of us an eternal offering to God, while giving us grace to live a life worthy of our Christian calling.

Weeks. . . . .that’s two weeks and counting! Our Assumption B.V.M. / St. Maximilian Kolbe Anniversary Feast days Mass / Picnic & Raffle on Sunday, August 12th_{suddenly are not so far off!}

Remember to reserve the entire day - starting with MASS and Procession beginning at 11:30am (only ONE Mass that day), followed by the PICNIC. Our Picnic is always a great way to spend a Sunday outdoors with family and friends. We’re praying for a break in the hot weather with a nice 80's-type day! Plus our “new & revised” MENU is looking more & more delicious: Tacos de Carne Asada, Tamales, Tostadas, Mole con arroz y frijoles, Gorditas, Empanada de Pollo, Pollo y Arroz con gandules, Hot Dogs! DONATIONS: Food Donations, Bakery, are still needed, see one of the registration sheets in the back table of the church to sign up! Non-perishable donations can be brought in ahead of time. And topping off the celebration, we’ll have our annual PICNIC RAFFLE! With these fabulous prizes:

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL

Today we wish to recognize those who not only support the parish, but also have made a gift or pledge to the 2012 Annual Catholic Appeal of the

Archdiocese of Chicago. On behalf of those who

will be served by your contributions, our thanks goes out to all who have already completed their pledge payments, as well as to those who are still making payments.

CURFEW FOR CHICAGO YOUTH

Kids between the ages of 12 and 16 have to be indoors by 10:00pm Sunday through Thursday, and 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Children under 12 have to be in before 8:30pm on weekdays and 9:00pm on weekends. There will be a fine of $500 for the first offense, and those who repeatedly break curfew could see a fine as much as $1,500.

Convocados y juntos en una sola esperanza, y compartiendo un solo Señor, una sola fe y un solo bautismo venimos en este día del Señor para que el Espíritu Santo nos forme en un solo cuerpo y un solo espíritu en Cristo. Desde hoy, y durante todo el mes de agosto, Jesús nos enseña que él es el Pan de Vida, bajado del cielo, y que ese pan es su carne que él dará para que el mundo tenga vida. Al celebrar nuestra Eucaristía de hoy demos gracias humildemente por este don y pidámosle a Jesús que nos ofrezca como ofrenda eterna a Dios, y nos dé la gracia para llevar una vida digna de nuestro llamado como cristianos. CELEBRACIÓN DE ANIVERSARIO

Semanas. . . ¡eso quiere decir dos semanas y contando! Nuestra Misa, Picnic y Rifa Aniversaria de Los Días de Fiesta de La Asunción y San Maximiliano, el domingo, 12 de agosto, de repente no parece tan lejos. Recuerden de reservar el día entero -empezando con LA MISA y Procesión -empezando a las 11:30am (solamente UNA misa ese día) y después el PICNIC. Nuestro Picnic siempre es una manera buena para pasar un domingo con familia y amistades. ¡Estamos rezando que se mejore el tiempo caliente y tengamos un día de 80 grados! Jovenes entre las edades de 12 a 16 años tienen que estar adentro de la casa a las 10:00pm Domingo a Jueves, y a las 11:00pm los Viernes y Sábados. Jovenes menores de 12 años tienen que estar adentro de la casa antes de las 8:30pm entre semana y 9:00pm los fines de semana. Habra una multa de $500 para la primera ofensa, y los que siguan violando el toque de queda tendran una multa de hasta $1,500.
