IT IS NOT ABOUT PLEASING MEN
The Word of God is forceful in this statement, it is God who we must please, not men. God tells us if we tried to please men, we would not be a servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10). (I remind you that by “men”, it means humanity; which includes every-one).
Those who act to please men have already re-ceived their pay, Jesus said. (Matthew 6). His own exam-ple makes this lesson very clear to us, his nourishment was to do the will of the heavenly Father. That was his mission and, therefore ours as well. And indeed, Jesus was not pleasing to the Jews of his time, nor of the religious au-thorities who led him to the cross. But he was the pleasure of his heavenly Father. Matthew 3:17
We could say that this truth is somewhat controversial or difficult for men, because we have the natural tendency to want to be well with others, to be well seen, to be liked by others, not to be rejected or viewed with contempt. How to reconcile this trend then? It is very good to want to be good with others, but never sacrificing higher values, truths of faith, or acting against the will of God.
The tendencies of the flesh are contrary to those of the Spirit (Galatians 5:17) because we are of fallen nature, in-clined to sin; to the 7 mortal sins and more. It is simply about conquering the freedom of children of God, which consists of mastering ourselves to put God in first place which corresponds to him, because otherwise, we would be falling into some type of idolatry, because something other than God would be in that place- an idol. This is how many people are- without faith and without God, worshiping people, themselves, money, pleasure, power, having, appearance, health, pets, life in this world, opin-ion of others, etc.
This can also happen to believers, since we have the same tendencies of the flesh, the same attractions. There we re-alize what congruence with our faith entails, the conquest of holiness, to free ourselves from all kinds of idols to be truly free, putting God in his place and postponing every-thing else to the corresponding second place.
Seek first the kingdom of God, the rest will follow
(Matthew 6:33). The fact is that none of the desires of the flesh can be fully satisfied. There never comes a time when you don't want more. It is an insatiable thirst of our fallen nature to sin. Whoever drinks this water will be thirsty again… (John 4:13). You always want more money, pleas-ure, power ... guided by a blind force - more of the evil one than of God - that does not seek to enrich and benefit others, nor oneself. Who we must satisfy is the desire of the soul, which thirsts for God (Psalm 42) and there is peace and Life.
On the other hand, it is impossible to please everyone, because what pleases one displeases others. In this world we are all incomplete, imperfect, open to criticism, for one thing or another. Only in heaven is there perfection and fullness.

NO SE TRATA DE AGRADAR A LOS HOMBRES La Palabra de Dios es contundente en esta afirma-ción, es a Dios a quien debemos agradar, no a los hombres, pues si pretendiera agradar a los hom-bres no sería siervo de Cristo, nos dice Dios (Gálatas 1,10). (Les recuerdo que en el lenguaje hombres es también genérico de humanidad, que incluye a todo el mundo).
Los que actúan para agradar a los hombres ya recibieron su paga, dijo Jesús. (Mateo 6). Su mismo ejemplo nos deja muy clara esta lección, su alimento era hacer la voluntad del Padre celestial, esa era su misión y, por tanto, también la nuestra. Y en efecto, Jesús no fue de la complacencia de los judíos de su tiempo, ni de las autoridades religiosas que le llevaron a la cruz. Pero si fue complacencia de su Padre celestial. Mateo 3,17.
Podríamos decir que esta verdad es un tanto controversial o difícil para los hombres, pues tenemos la tendencia natu-ral a querer estar bien con los demás, a ser bien vistos, a ser del agrado de los demás, a no ser rechazados o vistos con desprecio. ¿Cómo conciliar pues esta tendencia? Está muy bien querer estar bien con los demás, pero nunca sa-crificando valores superiores, verdades de fe, ni contra la voluntad de Dios.
Las tendencias de la carne son contrarias a las del Espíritu (Gálatas 5,17) pues somos naturaleza caída, inclinados al pecado, a los 7 capitales y más. Simplemente se trata de conquistar la libertad de hijos de Dios, que consiste en do-minarnos para poner a Dios en el lugar de primero que le corresponde, pues de no ser así, estaríamos cayendo en algún tipo de idolatría, pues algo distinto a Dios estaría en ese lugar, un ídolo. Así está mucha gente sin fe y sin Dios, adorando personas, a sí mismos, al dinero, placer, poder, tener, apariencia, salud, mascotas, vida en este mundo, opinión de los demás, etc.
Esto puede pasarnos también a los creyentes, pues tene-mos las mismas tendencias de la carne, las mismas atraccio-nes. Ahí nos damos cuenta de lo que conlleva la congruen-cia con nuestra fe, la conquista de la santidad, de liberar-nos de todo tipo de ídolos para ser realmente libres, po-niendo a Dios en su lugar y postpopo-niendo todo lo demás al correspondiente secundario.
Busca primero el reino de Dios, lo demás vendrá (Mateo 6,33). Y es que ninguno de los deseos de la carne puede ser plenamente satisfecho. Nunca llega el momento en que ya no quiere más. Es una sed insaciable la de nuestra natu-raleza caída al pecado. El que beba de esta agua volverá a tener sed… (Juan 4,13). Siempre se quiere más dinero, placer, poder… guiados por una fuerza ciega -más del ma-ligno que de Dios- que no busca enriquecer y beneficiar al prójimo, ni tampoco realmente a uno mismo. A quien debemos satisfacer es al deseo del alma, que tiene sed de Dios (salmo 42) y ahí está la paz y la Vida.
Por otra parte, es imposible a gradar a los demás, pues lo que agrada a uno desagrada a otros. En este mundo todos somos incompletos, imperfectos, criticables, por una cosa o por otra. Solo en el cielo hay perfección y plenitud.

thSaint Pius V established this feast in 1573. The purpose was to thank God for the victory of Chris-tians over the Turks at Lepanto—a victory attributed to the praying of the rosary. Clement XI extended the feast to the universal Church in 1716.
The development of the
rosary has a long history. First a practice developed of praying 150 Our Fathers in imitation of the 150 Psalms. Then there was a parallel practice of praying 150 Hail Marys. Soon a mystery of Jesus’ life was attached to each Hail Mary. Though Mary’s giving of the rosary to Saint Dominic is recognized as a legend, the development of this prayer form owes much to the followers of Saint Dominic. One of them, Alan de la Roche, was known as “the apostle of the rosary.” He founded the first Confraternity of the Rosary in the 15th century. In the 16th centu-ry, the rosary was developed to its present form— with the 15 mysteries: joyful, sorrowful and glori-ous. In 2002, Pope John Paul II added five Myster-ies of Light to this devotion.
The purpose of the rosary is to help us med-itate on the great mysteries of our salvation. Pius XII called it a compendium of the gospel. The main fo-cus is on Jesus—his birth, life, death, and resurrec-tion. The Our Fathers remind us that Jesus’ Father is the initiator of salvation. The Hail Marys remind us to join with Mary in contemplating these mysteries. They also make us aware that Mary was and is inti-mately joined with her Son in all the mysteries of his earthly and heavenly existence. The Glory Bes re-mind us that the purpose of all life is the glory of the Trinity.

San Pío V estableció esta fiesta en 1573. El propósito era agradecer a Dios por la victoria de los cristianos sobre los turcos en Lepanto, una victoria atribuida al rezo del rosario. Clemente XI extendió la fiesta a la Iglesia universal en 1716.El desarrollo del rosario tiene una larga historia. Primero se desarrolló una práctica de rezar 150 Padres Nuestros en imitación de los 150 Salmos. Luego hubo una práctica paralela de rezar 150 Avemarías. Pronto se adjuntó un misterio de la vida de Jesús a cada Ave María. Aunque la entrega del rosario de María a San-to Domingo es reconocida como una leyenda, el desarrollo de esta forma de oración debe mucho a los seguidores de Santo Domingo. Uno de ellos, Alan de la Roche, era conocido como "el apóstol del rosa-rio". Fundó la primera Cofradía del Rosario en el siglo XV. En el siglo XVI, el rosario se desarrolló a su forma actual, con los 15 misterios: alegre, triste y glorioso. En 2002, el Papa Juan Pablo II agregó cin-co Misterios de Luz a esta devoción.
