ORDER OF BLESSING OF A HOME (You will need one person as a leader and another person as a reader)
Introductory Rites
All make the sign of the cross.
Leader: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. All: Amen.
Leader: May the God whom we glorify with one heart and voice enable us, through the Spirit,
to live in harmony as followers of Christ Jesus, now and for ever.
All: Amen.
Leader: When Christ took flesh through the Blessed Virgin Mary, he made his home with us.
Let us now pray that he will enter this home and bless it with his presence. May he always be here among us; may he nurture our love for each other, share in our joys, comfort us in our sorrows. Inspired by his teachings and example, let us seek to make our home before all else a dwelling place of love, diffusing far and wide the goodness of Christ.
Reading of the Word of God
Reader: Let us listen to the words of the holy gospel according to Luke. 24:28-32 As they approached the village to which they were going,
he gave the impression the he was going on farther. But they urged him, “Stay with us,
for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.
And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, saying the blessing,
broke it, and gave it to them.
With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him. but he vanished from their sight.
Then they said to each other,
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?”
Intercessions
Leader: The Son of God, Lord of heaven and earth, made his home among us. With
thankfulness and gladness let us call upon him, saying:
Reader: Lord Jesus Christ, by your life with Mary and Joseph you sanctified the life of the
home; dwell with us in our home. So that we may have you as our guest and honor you as our Head.
All: Stay with us, Lord.
Reader: In you every dwelling grows into a holy temple; grant that those who live in this
house may be built into the dwelling place of God in the Holy Spirit.
All: Stay with us, Lord.
Reader: You taught your followers to build their houses upon solid rock; grant that the
members of this family may hold fast to your teachings and, free of all discord, serve you with their whole heart.
All: Stay with us, Lord.
Reader: You had no place to lay your head, but in uncomplaining poverty you accepted the
hospitality of your friends; grant that through our help people who are homeless may obtain decent housing.
All: Stay with us, Lord.
Prayer of Blessing
Leader: Bless our home, Lord,
and all who live here in peace.
Be our shelter when we are at home, our companion when we are away, and our welcome guest when we return. And at last receive us
into the dwelling place you have prepared for us in your Father’s house,
where you live for ever and ever.
All: Amen.
Leader: Let this water call to mind our baptism into Christ, who has redeemed us by his death
and resurrection.
All: Amen.
Sprinkle those present and the home with holy water.
Concluding Rite
Leader: May the peace of Christ rule in our hearts,
so that whatever we do in word and in work, we will do in the name of the Lord.

Líder: Que el Dios, al que glorificamos con un solo corazón y una sola voz nos conceda, por su Espíritu, vivir en armonia como seguidores de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, ahora y siempre.

Leader: Queridod hermanos, cuando Cristo se hizo carne por medio de la bendita Virgen
Maria, el hizo su hogar con nosotros. Oremos ahora para que Él entre en este hogar y lo bendiga con su presencia. Que Él siempre este aqui entre nosotros; que Él nutra nuestro amor por los demas, comparta nuestras alegrias,y nos conforte en nuestras penas. Inspirados por sus enseñanzas y sú ejemplo, busquemos hacer nuestro hogar, antes que nada una morada de amor, difundiendo por todos lados el amor de Cristo.
Lectura de la Palabra de Dios
Lector: Escuchemos las palabras del Santo Evangelio de acuerdo a Lucas 24:28-32 Al llegar al pueblo adonde iban, Jesús hizo como que iba a seguir su camino. Pero ellos le obligaron a quedarse, diciendo: “Quédate con nosotros, porque se está haciendo tarde, y ya casi es de noche.”
Entonces Jesús entró para quedarse con ellos. Y cuando estaba ya sentado con ellos a la mesa, tomó en sus manos el pan, lo bendijo, lo partió y se lo dio a ellos. En ese momento los ojos de ellos fueron abiertos, y le reconocieron; pero entonces él
desapareció. Y se dijeron el uno al otro: “¿No es verdad que el corazón nos ardía en el pecho, cuando nos venía hablando en el camino y nos explicaba las Escrituras?”
Intenciones
Líder: Con ánimo agradecido y gozoso invoquemos al hijo de Dios, Señor de cielo y tierra, que, hecho hombre, habitó entre nosotros, y digamos:
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, Señor.
Lector: Señor Jesucristo, que con María y José santificaste la vida doméstica, dignate convivir
con nosotros en esta casa, para que te reconozcamos como huésped y te honremos como cabeza.
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, Señor.
Lector: Tú, por quien todo el edificio queda ensamblado, y se va levantando hasta formar un
templo consagrado, haz que los habitantes de esta casa se vayan integrando en la construcción, para sean morada de Diós, por el Espíritu.
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, Señor.
Lector: Tú enseñaste a tus fieles a edificar su casa sobre piedra firme, haz que esta familia se
apoye firmemente en tu palabra y, evitando toda división, te sirva con generosidad y de todo corazón.
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, Señor.
Lector: Tú que, careciendo de morada propia, aceptaste con el gozo de la pobreza la
hospitalidad de los amigos, haz que todos los que buscan vivienda encuentren, con nuestra ayuda, una casa digna.
Todos: Quédate con nosotros, Señor. Oración de Bendición
Líder: Bendice nuestro hogar, Señor, y todos los que viven aquí.
Sé nuestro refugio cuando estamos en casa, para que los que vivan en ella,
sientan tu presencia protectora,
cuando salgan, gocen de tu compañía, cuando regresen,
experimenten la alegría de tenerte como huésped, hasta que lleguen felizmente a la estancia
preparada para ellos en la casa de tu Padre. Tú que vives y reinas por los siglos de los siglos.
Todos: Amén.
Líder: Que esta agua nos recuerde nuestro bautismo en Cristo, que nos redimió con su muerte y resurrección.
