Marah Zamudio was born and raised in Deming New Mexico . Right out of high school i attended
Western New Mexico University to study elementary education and psychology . After two years i decided to move to San Diego with my then boyfriend-now husband . He was stationed in San Diego serving in the Navy . While in San Diego I decided to take a break from school and get a job , so in 2008 Marah started as receptionist at a salon . After a year some of the stylists encouraged me to go to cosmetology school so I went to “check out” Paul Mitchell the School San Diego . At that point i decided to go on a new journey and enroll . Although i was thrilled with my new educational decision I did not have a lot of support from some friends and family and soon after I started to feel like a college drop out that was about to make a bad decision . During my Core the Dean’s List and Honors Programs were introduced to me so at that point i set a goal, to be the second Dean’s List graduate from PMTS San Diego . A year later i received an amazing education, tons of hands on experience, and multiple diplomas, including Honors and the Dean’s List . I felt so accomplished! Soon after graduating my husband was deployed to Charleston, South Carolina . In Charleston I was offered a learning leader position at Paul Mitchell the School Charleston . In the three years that i spent at the school I helped in many areas including the protege program, grading worksheet and tallies and eventually became the future professional advisor for the night program all while being a stylist at Tresses Hair Studio . In May 2013 me and my husband returned to San Diego and became a learning leader at the school where my journey first began . Through the years i can truly say that i have found my passion and love the career that i have chosen .
