Matthew 13:44-52
Jesus teaches about the Kingdom of Heaven.
Family Connection to Today’s Gospel
Like the person who found the buried treasure and the mer- chant who acquired the pearl of great price, we seek to find the signs of the kingdom of heaven in our lives. In fact, we even work to bring about God’s kingdom in our actions and in our words. We pray that our family values reflect our pursuit of the kingdom of heaven. As Jesus’ disciples, we place eve- rything we value in the service of the pursuit of the Kingdom of God.
As you gather as a family, talk about what your family values.
Make a list together of those things that your family considers most important, such as family, friends, faith, trust, and love.
Place this list before you as you read today’s Gospel in its shorter form, Matthew 13:44-46. In these parables, Jesus teaches us that it is worth giving up even valuable things in order to possess the kingdom of heaven. Look at the list your family made and talk about how these things are important to the kingdom of heaven. What has your family given up to make these values important in your life? As Jesus’ disciples, we place everything we value in the service of the pursuit of the Kingdom of God. Pray together for God’s kingdom by praying the Lord’s Prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespass- es, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Como la persona que encontró el tesoro escondido y el co- merciante que alquiló la perla de gran precio, buscamos se- ñales del reino de Dios en nuestras vidas. De hecho, nosotros también luchamos para que nuestras acciones y nuestras pa- labras demuestren el reino de Dios. Oramos para que nues- tros valores familiares reflejen nuestra búsqueda del Reino de Celestial. Como los discípulos de Jesus, todo lo que valora- mos lo ponemos en el servicio de la búsqueda del Reino de Dios.
Cuando se reúnan como familia, hablen sobre sus valores familiares. Haga una lista de aquellas cosas que su familia considera más importante, como la familia, amigos, fe, con- fianza y amor. Change of Missalettes:
We have made the change to the missalettes used in the Main Church during Sunday Liturgies. We now have Glory and Praise books for English masses. Flor y Canto and Misal del dia books for Spanish masses. This change will help the par- ish to save money in the long run. Please DO NOT take the books out of the church. To replace the books will cost the parish more money.
The readings for the English Sunday Liturgies can be found in the last half of the Glory and Parise (the blue books) Mis- salettes. We are in Year A Cycle—Ordinary Time.
Cambio de Misales:
Hemos hecho el cambio con los misales en la Iglesia Princi- pal durante las Liturgias en domingo. El cambio para las mi- sas de Ingles usaremos el libro Glory and Praise. Para misas en español usaremos el libro Canto y Flor y el libro Misal del día. Este cambio ayudara en ahorrar dinero para la parroquia.

Our Jamaica is up and running for 2017. We are in need of volunteers in the Raffle Area to help in the selling of tickets on the weekends after mass. Prayer Cards: Available in the Par ish Office for a donation of $2.00 or
$5.00. Perpetual Certificates are also available. These enrollments make excel- lent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to edu- cate Seminarians in the Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to parishes for building programs. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women since 1948.

Infertility & Miscarriage Support: Sarah's Hope & Abraham's Promise is a spiritual support program for couples struggling with infertility and miscar- riage. Based on Catholic teaching, we combine the wisdom of modern medi- cine with the healing power of the Catholic Church. We offer a women's Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.
Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adoptive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adoption and fostering. The play- group meets once a month in different areas of Austin.
