• Ms. Anderson has been a Mapleton teacher for 12 years. She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews, taking pictures of Colorado wildlife and

• Mrs. Ly has been teaching for 14 years and 4 years in Mapleton. She enjoys spending time with her
family. She has 3 sons. Her hobbies include making tiered wedding
cakes. She also looks forward to meeting you soon!
Meet the Teachers
• Senora Lopez will be joining us as a “neighborhood” teacher for the first 4 weeks of school. She is the Spanish teacher. She will then rotate to
another grade level. We will have rotating studios teachers this year every 4 weeks. She looks forward to meeting you!
Please send the following items to school.
• Please send a change of clothes for your child. We will have bathroom breaks, but accidents do happen.
• We will have Snack Recess every day. Please send a snack for your child. Snacks will not be provided due to allergens. It is important to send healthy snacks.
• Please have your child bring a mask every day. Mask wearing will be required with breaks taken during recess time when we can maintain social distancing.
• The school is providing water bottles for every child. They will stay at school and be washed here.
• Also please dress for the weather. We will be outside 3 times a day.
Ipad Expectations
• This year we are starting a new
routine. We will be training students to take their iPads home every day, and to bring them back to school every day.
• It is important to bring the Ipad everyday. We will be using them throughout the day.
• Homework will be on the Ipad.
• Ipads will be provided from the school district.
Safety Protocols
• Please take your child’s temperature daily before sending them to school.
• Please keep them at home if they are sick.
• Mask wearing will be required. Please wear your mask to school in the morning.
• Classrooms are set up for social distancing and will be sanitized often.
• If they are sick, they will be able to access schoolwork through Canvas from home on their Ipads.
• We will also be in cohorts. We won’t come into contact with any other classes
Uniforms

Normally York is a uniform school but this year
due to the pandemic we are not requiring
students to wear uniforms.

Pick up & Drop Off Procedures
• You will be dropping off your child in the York Kiss & Go. Please DO NOT
get out of your car or park here. You will need to drop your child off and let them walk to us for social distancing! This is very important. • Mrs. Ly, Ms. Anderson and Senora
Lopez will be located where the smily faces are to have your child line up.
• We will also dismiss here. Dismissal will be at (clarify time…)
Line Up Here – in the morning and after school
• We will be lined up along the wall here.
• Again, it is very important that you do not bring your child to the line. Teach them to walk to the line and maintain social distancing.
• You may be nervous – but it is best to start this way. Then your child will be able to be independent for the rest of the year.
Bus Riders
• Please contact your child’s teacher if you plan on having your student ride the bus.
• We need to know what the bus name is, what their stop will be and if they will be riding the bus every day or not.
Breakfast & Lunch
• Breakfast will be served in the classroom at 8:10 when school starts. Food will no longer be served in the cafeteria.
• Lunch will also be served in the classroom.
• If you send items from home, please ensure that your child can open the items. For example, lunch containers or capri sun drinks.
• Please send healthy food. It is important to help your child learn and stay focused.
Canvas
• We will be using Canvas to deliver instruction this year. This will allow for children to be able to access the learning from home if they are sick. Please check out this link for more information about Canvas. Parent User Guides in English and Spanish
• Homework will be assigned through Canvas on the Ipad.
• Please make sure your child brings their iPad to school EVERY day. Making sure that it stays charged will also be helpful.
Birthdays
• Due to covid rules, we will be unable to have parents bring in anything for their child’s birthday this year.
• We will find other ways to celebrate them during the day!

• Envíe una muda de ropa para su hijo. Tendremos descansos para ir al baño, pero los accidentes ocurren.
• Tendremos recreo para bocadillos todos los días. Envíe un bocadillo para su hijo. No se
proporcionarán refrigerios debido a alérgenos. Es importante enviar bocadillos saludables.
• Haga que su hijo traiga una máscara todos los días. Se requerirá el uso de máscara con los descansos tomados durante el recreo cuando podamos mantener el distanciamiento social.
• La escuela está proporcionando botellas de agua para todos los niños. Se quedarán en la escuela y se lavarán aquí.
• También vístase para el clima. Estaremos afuera 3 veces al día.
Expectativas de iPad
• Este año comenzamos una nueva rutina. Estaremos capacitando a los estudiantes para que se lleven sus iPads a casa todos los días y los
traigan de regreso a la escuela todos los días.
• Es importante traer el Ipad y el cargador todos los días. Los usaremos durante todo el día.
• La tarea estará en el Ipad.
• Los Ipads serán proporcionados por el distrito escolar.
Protocolos de seguridad

Uniformes
Normalmente, York es una escuela de uniforme, pero este
año debido a la pandemia no exigimos que los estudiantes
usen uniformes.
Procedimientos para recoger y dejar
• Dejará a su hijo en el York Kiss & Go. NO salga de su automóvil ni se
estacione aquí. ¡Deberá dejar a su hijo en la acera y dejar que se
acerque a nosotros para distanciarse socialmente! Esto es muy
importante.
• La Sra. Ly, la Sra. Anderson y la Sra. López estarán ubicadas donde están las caras sonrientes para que su hijo se alinee.
• También vamos a despedir aquí. La salida será a las (aclarar hora…)
Alinee aquí - por la mañana y después de la
escuela
• Estaremos alineados a lo largo de la pared aquí.
• Nuevamente, es muy importante que no lleve a su hijo a la fila. Enséñeles a caminar hacia la línea y mantener el distanciamiento social.
• Puede que esté nervioso, pero es mejor empezar de esta manera. Entonces su hijo podrá ser
independiente durante el resto del año.
Pasajeros de autobús
• Comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo si planea que su hijo viaje en autobús.
• Necesitamos saber cuál es el nombre del autobús, cuál será su parada y si viajarán en el autobús todos los días o no.
Desayuno y almuerzo
• El desayuno se servirá en el salón de clases a las 8:10 cuando comience la escuela. Ya no se servirá comida en la cafetería.
• El almuerzo también se servirá en el salón de clases.
• Si envía artículos desde casa, asegúrese de que su hijo pueda abrirlos. Por ejemplo, recipientes para el almuerzo o bebidas solares capri.
• Envíe alimentos saludables. Es importante ayudar a su hijo a aprender y mantenerse concentrado.
Canvas
• Usaremos Canvas para impartir instrucción este año. Esto permitirá que los

• La tarea se asignará a través de Canvas en el Ipad.

Cumpleaños
