Stations of the Cross
This year we will have the Stations of the Cross in both English and in Spanish. Beginning Thursday after Ash Wednesday and every Thursday during the Lenten Season we will have the Stations of the Cross in Spanish im- mediately after the daily Mass (around 7:15 p.m.) in the main church. Beginning the Friday after Ash Wednesday and every Friday during the Lenten Season we will have the Stations of the Cross in English immediately after
the daily Mass (around 7:15 p.m.). In addition the Daily Mass on Thursday and Friday will be celebrated in the main church during the Lenten Season only.
I am requesting any of our parish ministries and organizations who would like to help facilitate the Stations of the Cross on either day to contact the parish office and to sign up.

Mark your Calendar!!! Our Annual San Jose scholarship gala, will take place Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the parish hall. This year’s theme is “Noche de Fiesta”. All are invited to this event. This event helps support the San Jose Scholarship fund. More information to come.

PARISH PENANCE SERVICE:
We will have our annual Lenten Penance Service on Monday, March 26, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm in the main church. We will have several priests present to assist with confessions. I encourage everyone to please take this opportunity as a way of preparing our hearts, souls and minds for the Passion of Our Lord. Please note: there will be NO CONFES- SIONS on Thursday, March 29th or Saturday, March 31st during Holy Week.

Este año vamos a tener las Vía Crucis en inglés como en español. Comenzando el jueves después de miércoles de ceniza y todos los jueves durante la Cuaresma tenemos las Vía Crucis en Español inmediatamente después de la Misa diaria (alrededor 7:15 p.m.) en la iglesia principal.

On August 1, 2016, the Diocese of Austin will begin using a new education program for our EIM workshop, which will replace our current Basic/Refresher workshop format. The new program is a significant update of current training programs and we be- lieve it is important for all persons that are required to be EIM compliant to participate in this program and receive this updated information. Consequently, all clergy, religious, seminarians and employees, and all volunteers serving in ministry to minors or the vulnerable, will attend this new program when they are next due for a workshop. Additionally, anyone new to the Diocese of Austin, wishing to serve in ministry here, must attend this new EIM workshop in order to be compliant with diocesan EIM policies. Verification of safe environment training from a previous diocese no longer serves as training in the Diocese of Austin. Please contact the EIM Office at emily-hurlimann@

St. Vincent de Paul, San José Conference News
Lent is a call not just to “give up something” but more important to “give something for the poor.” Wherever you live in the parish, there are poor families withing walking distance of your home. When in need, they ring the rectory bell. They are, in effect, ringing your doorbell.
For the month of January, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to assist 13 families, providing
$140 in food, $2,177.51 for utilities, $1,788 rent and other bills.

Clerical Endowment Fund (C. E. F.)
Prayer Cards: Available in the Parish Office for a donation of
$2.00 or $5.00. Perpetual Certificates are also available. These enrollments make excellent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to educate Seminarians in the Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to parishes for building programs. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women since 1948.

We offer a women’s Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.
Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adoptive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adop- tion and fostering. The playgroup meets once a month in different areas of Austin.
