Silvia Isassy, Secretary 424-1959 Patty Atwood, Secretary 424-1959 Jacque Rodriguez 772-8230 Communications Coordinator Bulletin Editor E-Mail: [email protected] Dear friends,

I'm down with my sisters helping take care of mom. It's so hard to see parents go through decline.... After that I have a few days with my best friend from school, then up to St. Patrick's seminary for formation. I'm sure not going to be around much my last weeks in our parish.

Here are some things to bring to your attention.

1) This weekend we start announcing Landings, a process that offers "a safe harbor for returning Catholics ... through welcoming, listening and sharing" for eight Tuesdays (7 PM) in the Parish Annex (14 Stone St.) Landings has done wonders for so many. If you have a friend or family member who might like to find a way back to our Church, tell them about this process. Contact person: Gerald Nolan, 424-5448.

2) Congratulations to our wonderful ... and huge ... group of Confirmation kids, who received the sacrament from our bishop Saturday at 2:30 PM. Our town is truly blessed!

3) Next Sunday is Pentecost, the great birthday of our Church. If you re-member, try to wear something red to weekend services.

I hope you will be patient with me these next weeks. I will be a mess ... because of mom and because of my rapidly approaching departure. And ... of course ... pray that the wonderful new pastor the bishop is sending, Fr. Ignacio Martinez, receives a warm welcome and everyone's full cooperation.

Peace and All Good!

Queridos amigos:

.

¡Paz y todo bien!

MY BODY, MY TEMPLE ... MI CUERPO, MI TEMPLO

“Beloved, I hope you are in good

health—may you thrive in all

other ways as you do in the

spirit.”

3 John: 2

Did you know that eating plenty of fruits and

vegetables will help to provide good health for

you and your family, will give you more

en-ergy, and will lower the risk of serious chronic

diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, high

blood pressure, and obesity?

But, how can we buy more fruits and

vegeta-bles when we are on a tight budget? A very

good approach is to buy the fruits and

vegeta-bles that are in season. They cost less and are

at their best in flavor.

BEST AVAILABILITY

ALL YEAR:

cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, garlic,

lettuce, onions, radish, spinach

SPRING:

artichokes, asparagus, celery, fava

beans, peas, strawberries,

SUMMER:

apricots, cherries, figs, melons,

nectar-ines, peaches, summer squash, tomatoes

FALL:

grapefruit, kumquats, lemons, oranges,

pears, bell peppers

WINTER:

kiwi, mandarins, oranges, pomelos,

tangerines, winter squash

A thrifty way to supplement the fresh fruits and

vegetables is to stock up on frozen vegetables

on sale, and to buy canned fruits packed in

100% fruit juice.

It is possible to be healthy and to stay within

our budget at the same time. This year’s

sum-mer season begins on June 21, 2011.

God Bless & Stay Healthy!

“Amado, mi oración es que tú

seas prosperado en todas

las cosas, y que tengas salud,

así como prospera tu alma.”

3 Juan: 2

col, zanahorias, coliflor, ajo,

lechuga, cebolla, rábano, espinacas

PRIMAVERA:

alcachafas, espárragos, apio,

habas, chícharos, fresas

VERANO:

cerezas, higos, melón,

nectari-nas, duraznos, calabaza de verano, tomates

OTOŇO:

toronjas, limones, naranjas,

peras,

INVIERNO:

kiwis, mandarinas, naranjas,

іQue Dios le Bendiga y

Manténgase Saludable!
