Home and Hospital Visitation/Visita a Casa y Hospital

If someone you know is homebound or in the hospital, please call the rectory and let us know. We would like to

keep them in our prayers and try to arrange to visit. Si sabe de alguien que este enfermo en casa, o en el hospital y desea la visita de un ministro de la iglesia favor

Mass Intentions

Part of our tradition as a Catholic Community is to remember our loved ones in our prayer and gathering. Many times, we do this simple gesture of our prayer in the

intentions of our masses, published each week in our bulletin. If you would like to set a special intention for a loved one, please contact the Rectory at least two weeks

prior to the date you would like to reserve.

Beginning June 11 through June 14 this summer, SHINE Catholic Work Camp (SCWC) is going to be located in

our community. SHINE is an acronym which stands for “Serving Him In the Needy and Elderly.” This is a project of youth

service and they are seeking people in our parish who would like work done in their homes. The volunteers are high school

students and adults who are able to help with interior/exterior painting, yard work, basic home repair or other types of home

concerns which are in their scope. They will have basic tools and supplies but those who would like to have work done in

their home needs to provide necessary materials, i.e. paint, brushes, ladders, wood….If you have needs and concerns in your

home and would like some assistance during these days, please contact Fr. Jim Heneghan at 773-478-1157, ext. 27 for further

information. This is a great opportunity to open your heart to others who also are opening their hearts to serve. If you have any

A partir del 11 de Junio hasta el 14 de Junio de este verano, La organización SHINE, Catholic Work Camp (SCWC)

estará ubicado en nuestra comunidad. SHINE es un acrónimo que significa "Sirviéndole a los necesitados y ancianos por

me-dio de EL." Este es un proyecto de servicio de la juventud y están buscando gente de nuestra parroquia que quieren trabajo

realizado en sus hogares. Los voluntarios son estudiantes y adultos que son capaces de ayudar con la pintura interior/exterior,

jardinería, reparación de viviendas básicas u otro tipo de problemas en casa que se encuentran en su ámbito de secundaria.

Ellos tienen las herramientas y suministros básicos, pero los que le gustaría tener un trabajo hecho en su casa tiene que

propor-cionar los materiales necesarios, es decir, pintura, pinceles, escaleras de madera .... Si usted tiene necesidades y

preocupacio-nes en su casa y le gustaría un poco de ayuda durante estos días, por favor póngase en contacto con el Padre Jim Heneghan al

Religious Education

Wednesday, May 8th_{– NO CLASS}

Saturday, May 11th_{– no class; First Communion Mass in English at 11 AM. First Communion Mass in Spanish at 1 PM} Saturday, May 18th– Last R.E. Family Mass at 8:45 AM

• This week we will have our two First Communion practices. If your child will be attending the English mass, your practice is on Tuesday, the 7th, at 6 PM in the church. If your child will be attending the Spanish mass, your practice is on Wednesday, the 8th, at 6 PM in the church. All children and their parents should be in attendance.

• There will not be classes this coming Wednesday, the 8th, nor on Saturday, the 11th, nor on Wednesday, the 15th.

• The First Communion masses will be held this coming Saturday, the 11th. The English First Communion mass will begin at 11 AM, and the Spanish First Communion mass will begin at 1 PM. All children and their parents should arrive to church no less than 20 minutes before their mass time.

• Our last Religious Education Family mass and our last class will be held on Saturday, May 18th. The Wednesday students should be in attendance as well.

• The last Children’s Liturgy of the Word for the summer, at the 8:45 and 10:30 masses, will be on Sunday, May 19th. These liturgies for children will begin again after Labor Day.

Miércoles, 8 de Mayo - NO HAY CLASE

Sábado, 11 de Mayo - no hay clase, Primera Comunión Misa en Inglés a las 11 AM y Misa en Español 1:00 PM. Sábado, 18 de Mayo– Ultima Misa Familiar de Educación Religiosa a las 8:45 AM

• Esta semana tendremos nuestras dos prácticas de Primera Comunión. Si su hijo va a asistir a la misa en Inglés, su práctica es el Mar-tes, día 7 de Mayo, a las 6 pm en la iglesia. Si su hijo va a asistir a la misa en español, su práctica es el Miércoles, día 8 de Mayo, a las 6 pm en la iglesia. Todos los niños y sus padres deben estar presentes.

• No habrá clases el próximo Miércoles, día 8, Sábado día 11, ni el siguiente Miércoles, día 15 de Mayo.

• Las Misas de Primera Comunión se llevarán acabo el próximo Sábado, día 11 de Mayo. La misa de Inglés de Primera Comunión comenzará a las 11 am, y la misa de Primera Comunión en español comenzará a la 1:00 PM. Todos los niños y sus padres deben llegar a la iglesia, no menos de 20 minutos antes de su hora de misa.

• Nuestra última Misa Familiar de Educación Religiosa y nuestra última clase se llevará acabo el Sábado, 18 de Mayo. Los estudiantes de la clase del Miércoles también deben estar presentes.

• La ultima Liturgia de la Palabra de niños para el verano, en misas de 8:45 y 10:30 AM, será el Domingo 19 de Mayo. Estas liturgias para niños comenzarán de nuevo después del día festivo del Día del Trabajo.

Catholic Charities relies on funding from the Mother’s Day Collection to help serve more than one million people of all ages, races and religions in Cook and Lake Counties. Families, children, pregnant and parenting teens, seniors and veterans who have served our country most bravely come to Catholic Charities for the basic necessities of life: food, clothing and housing. Catholic Charities meets these basic needs with patience and understanding, and then provides a broad range of professional services to help their clients work their way out of poverty, addressing the prob-lems that keep them from independence and self-sufficiency.

Catholic Charities is the public face of the Church’s love for all in Christ’s name. I am profoundly grateful to the devoted staff, volunteers and donors who dedicate themselves to the mission of charity in the Archdiocese of Chica-go. I thank you for your past support, and I urge you to please, once again, take the opportunity to bring Christ’s love to the most vulnerable among us by participating in the Catholic Charities Collection on Mother’s Day.

El Día de las Madres, festejamos a las mujeres—madres, abuelas, tías, amigas—que nos han amado y cuidado. Es a través de su amor incondicional y de su compasión que empezamos a entender la forma en que Dios cuida de no-sotros y que cobra vida el mandamiento de Cristo de amar a nuestro prójimo como a nono-sotros mismos. El Día de las Madres es también un día para recordar y apoyar a las miles de personas que enfrentan las dificultades que trae consigo la pobreza y que reciben la ayuda compasiva y amorosa de Caridades Católicas.

La Colecta de Caridades Católicas que se lleva a cabo el Día de las Madres nos da la oportunidad de participar en la misión evangélica de amar y servir a los pobres. Nos ofrece una oportunidad extraordinaria para apoyar una misión fundamental de la Iglesia—el cuidado de nuestros hermanos y hermanas que sufren, tienen hambre y carecen de un ho-gar, muchos de los cuales es posible que vivan en sus propias comunidades parroquiales.

Caridades Católicas depende de los fondos recaudados en la Colecta del Día de las Madres para ayudar a aten-der a más de un millón de personas de todas las edades, razas y religiones en los condados de Cook y Lake.
