It is with great sadness that I announce that Deacon Romeo C.
Sanchez passed away on Friday evening, April 21, 2017. The arrangements for Deacon Romeo Sanchez are as follows: the Rosary will take place in the Main Church on Sunday, April 30th at 7:00 PM and the Funeral Mass will be on Monday, May 1st at 10:00 AM. The internment will take place imme- diately after Mass at Assumption cemetery with a luncheon to follow. The luncheon will take place in the Parish Hall. All are invited to assist any and all services. I ask
that no meetings take place during the services to allow all of the San Jose Parish family to have the opportunity to attend the services. The Church Office will be closed on Monday, May 1st in observance of Deacon Romeo Sanchez' funeral. Thank you for your understanding. You are also invited to attend a Novena of Rosaries as we pray for the repose of the soul of our beloved Deacon Sanchez and pray for his family. The Novena will take place in the Main Church at 7:00 P.M. from May 2nd to May 10th. Blessings!

Marian Pilgrimage to Portugal/Spain/France
In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, I will be hosting a pilgrimage to various Marian Shrines. We will visit the shrines of Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Lourdes and Our Lady of Montserrat just to mention a few. The dates of travel are November 6th – 17th, 2017. The price of the pilgrimage is $3,198 (12 Days/10 Nights); it includes round trip air from Austin; hotel accommodations, double occupancy; breakfast and dinner daily; deluxe, private motor coach; English speaking Tour Guide and more. Mark your calendars as we celebrate our Patron Saint Joseph the Worker. We will honor him after all the Masses on Sunday, April 30, 2017 along with a festival in front of the Church with food and game booths from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All are invited. Proceeds from this event are to help offset the cost for the Parish Jamaica in October.

We will have our friends from Jerusalem visiting us once again on Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 14th, 2017). They will be in the Church foyer after all masses to sale their beautiful olive wood religious art.

Upcoming Changes:
The change is only for the missalettes used in the Main Church during Sunday Liturgies. We will switch to a different book that will include both readings and hymns. Effective on June 10th and 11th, 2017 we will be switching to Glor y and Pr aise books for English masses. Flor y Canto and Misal del dia books for Spanish masses. The change will help the parish to save money in the long run. And we will be able to use the new books for the three Litur- gical year cycles of the Church.

We strongly encourage all youth ages 14-18 to participate with their parent’s consent. Mission Appeal on May 20 and 21
Kabgayi Diocese is located in the Southern Province of Rwanda. It was erected on April 25, 1922. It has total population of 993.150 inhabitants with over 64% of them Roman Catholics.
The Diocese like many other institutions in Rwanda suffered the worst human and material de- struction and loss due to the 1994 Rwanda Genocide. We are still struggling to reconstruct our schools, churches, hospitals in the overall mission of bringing hope, peace and reconciliation to
many who have suffered tremendously. We come to this Mission Appeal with the hope that by sharing our story with our sisters and brothers in Christ we can deepen our solidarity in the salvific mission of Christ and fullness of life for all. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Infertility & Miscarriage Support: Sarah's Hope & Abraham's Promise is a spiritual support program for couples struggling with infertility and miscar- riage. Based on Catholic teaching, we combine the wisdom of modern medi- cine with the healing power of the Catholic Church. We offer a women's Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.
Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adoptive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adoption and fostering. The play- group meets once a month in different areas of Austin.

St Albert the Great Catholic Church, Austin is hosting a Taste of Africa Gala Night on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 7 pm at the Community center; 7300 Hart Lane, Austin, Texas 78731. The highlight of the event will be the draw- ing of the Raffle. First Prize will be a 2017 Chevy Colorado, OR a 2017 Chevy Equinox, with other consolation prizes. Tickets are selling for $10 each.
