2 –June 16, 2019—The Most Holy Trinity Greetings to everyone on this Trinity Sunday!
The Church today celebrates a mystery revealed to us by Jesus, that the one God is also Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This reality helps us to meditate on the God who is both one and a community.
Today as Fathers’ Day underlines the Person of the Father. To understand God as Father is not hard intellectually.
Because our experience of fatherhood is hard this can be challenging. This revelation brings together both the loving and incomprehensible sides of God.
Last week at home I kept hearing my mother complain about the gnats. I poo-pooed her comments until I got chased into the house a couple times by these “evil” bugs. After some studying of dad’s entomology books, I learned these little guys can even team up and take out deer and cattle. Eek! Why would God create something nasty like this?
This is where the Fatherhood of God comes into play. If my relationship with God is only distant, he may only be seen as punishing those who do wrong. In this case, I might only understand these little beasts as a punishment. I was snippy to someone, so God sends a buzzing cloud of bugs to teach me to be nicer. If this were the case, the temptation would be to do good only to avoid a cloud of gnats.
If God is our Father, who loves and challenges us, then we can discover a different interpretation. First of all, I can talk to him about the bugs. Maybe he has reasons for them? Then, he may want to teach me that he allows difficulty at times so that I can still see his loving hand behind inconvenience and pain? The complexity of fatherhood as a human relationship can teach us to find meaning in difficulty.
Perhaps this is why God choose to present himself to us as a father.
So whatever difficulty you face this week, see it as a nudge from God the Father, reminding you to talk to him about it.

La Iglesia de hoy celebra un misterio que Jesús nos reveló, que el único Dios es también Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Esta realidad nos ayuda a meditar en el Dios que es al mismo tiempo uno y comunidad.
Hoy como Día de los Padres subraya la Persona del Padre. Entender a Dios como Padre no es difícil intelectualmente. Debido a que nuestra experiencia de paternidad es difícil, esto puede ser desafiante. Esta revelación reúne los lados amorosos e incomprensibles de Dios.
La semana pasada en casa escuché a mi madre quejarse continuamente de los mosquitos. Ignoré sus comentarios hasta que fui perseguido hasta la casa un par de veces por estos "malvados" insectos. Después de estudiar los libros de entomología de papá, aprendí que estos insectos incluso pueden unirse en grupo y matar venados y ganado. ¿Por qué Dios crearía algo tan desagradable como esto?
Aquí es donde entra en juego la Paternidad de Dios. Si mi relación con Dios es solo lejana, solamente se le puede ver como alguien castigando a quienes hacen el mal. En este caso, solo podría entender a estos pequeños bichos como un castigo. Fui abrupto con alguien, así que Dios envía una nube de bichos zumbando para enseñarme a ser más amable. Si este fuera el caso, la tentación sería hacer el bien solo para evitar una nube de mosquitos.
Si Dios es nuestro Padre, quien nos ama y nos desafía, entonces podemos descubrir una interpretación diferente.
En primer lugar, puedo hablar con él sobre los insectos. ¿Tal vez él tenga razones para haberlos creado?
Entonces, ¿quizás él quiera enseñarme que a veces permite las dificultades para que pueda ver su mano amorosa detrás de los inconvenientes y el dolor? La complejidad de la paternidad como una relación humana puede enseñarnos a encontrar un significado en la dificultad. Quizás es por eso que Dios elige presentarse ante nosotros como un padre.
Entonces, sea cual sea la dificultad que enfrente esta semana, véala como un empujoncito de Dios Padre, recordándole que hable con él al respecto.

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Readings for Sunday, June 16 Proverbs 8:22-31; Psalm 8:4-9; Romans 5:1-5; John 16:12-15
Reflection Questions:
• The reading from Proverbs paints a powerful picture of the Wisdom of God. In the Christian tradition, we often approach this text as a beautiful rendering of the Word of God (Jesus) present with the Father before all ages. How is the relationship between God the Creator and the eternal Wisdom (or Word) of God portrayed in this passage?
• Today’s psalm celebrates God’s creation of the natural world and humanity. The God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is a loving relationship par excellence. Love cannot help but create something new and miraculous. Take a look at our human families! As a community that
recognizes that we and the world around us are created by overflowing Divine Love, how does this shape the social and moral teachings of the Church? How can you
strengthen the relationships around you?
• Jesus promises to send the Holy Spirit to dwell in the midst of his Church. The Spirit will bring the words of the Father and the Son to the faithful. What are some ways that the Holy Spirit guides the Church in our time? How do you feel that the Holy Spirit guides you?

describe la relación entre Dios el Creador y la Sabiduría (o Palabra) eterna de Dios en este pasaje?

January 2019 Survey Follow-up Second Stewardship survey installment:
We received many questions and comments regarding the parking lot. Experts are currently checking out the parking lot to determine what needs to be done and to provide quotes. We are researching alternative ways to line the lot to allow more parking spots. This project has been
budgeted for Fiscal Year 2020 which begins on July 1. Once we have all the quotes, Building and Grounds will review them and we will put the final plan in the bulletin.

It’s not too late to support our High School Mission Trip!
This upcoming July, 28 high school students and chaperones will travel
to Osage Nation, Oklahoma to build, repair, paint, cook, feed, garden, tutor, and serve in a variety of other capacities for one week. Students have fundraised to help ease the costs of the trip. Can you help us? We can use the following: monetary contributions, gas cards, Subway and
McDonald’s gift cards, chips, baked goods, granola-type bars, and other items you feel will help our teens on the long journey. If you can help with this project, please contact Rick in the Faith Formation office. Thank you!

Vacation Bible School
St. Patrick Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School from August 5th through the 9th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Berry Hall. Children in Grades 4K through 5 are welcome to participate.
Every day there are crafts, music, Bible
stories, games, snacks, videos, and plays. If you are interested in helping out, please email Rick at [email protected] or call him at (262) 473- 3143 x119. Middle school and high school students may volunteer as well. There are green registration forms in the back of church and in Berry Hall. The cost is $20 per child or $30 per family and includes a t-shirt for every child. Please give your form to Rick or bring it to the Faith Formation office. Thank you!
