A PAST SECOND COLLECTION IS RESCHEDULED TO NEXT SUNDAY
MISSION APPEAL AND SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND
Next Sunday we will have the annual Mission Co-op Appeal and its second collection in our parish. This appeal was originally scheduled to be made on August 8, but it was rescheduled to this next weekend due to delays in securing visas needed by members of the religious community to visit this country.
The appeal will be made by Fr. Patrick Ogah from the Apostles of Divine Charity, a male Religious Association founded in the Catholic Diocese of Obala, Cameroon, in Central Africa. The second collection will take place after Communion. If you want to make a donation to the Apostles of Divine Charity and you use Offertory Envelopes, there should be a blue envelope in the back of our
envelope set entitled “Mission Cooperative Plan.” If you can’t find that envelope, use one of the red envelopes entitled “Special Collection” at the back of your envelope set and write “Mission Co-op” on it.

Due to the change in second collections mentioned in the above article, there are now TWO collections this month related to missions. Here is some information on each in our effort to make things less confusing (hope it works!):
• Next Sunday, October 10: Mission Co-op collection — for the Apostles of Divine Charity.
• Sunday, October 24: Collection for World Missions and Home Missions — a collection that supports young mission dioceses in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe — an area covering half of the globe.

The vaccine sites operated by the Alameda County Public Health Department are currently offering a $50.00 gift card to those receiving their first COVID-19 vaccination, and then another $50.00 gift card when the second vaccination is administered.
If you want to take advantage of this opportunity, you need not go far — just get your vaccinations at the site here in front of the Church at OLR on Fridays or on
Sundays during Mass. The Friday hours of the vaccination clinic is 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday hours are 8:00 a.m.

SE HA PROGRAMDA PARA EL PROXIMO FIN DE SEMANA APELACION DE LAS MISONES Y SEGUNDA COLECTA EL PROXIMO FIN DE SEMANA
El próximo fin de semana tendremos la Apelación anual de la Cooperativa de las Misiones y su segunda colecta en nuestra parroquia. Esta apelación originalmente estaba
programada para el 8 de agosto, pero se cambio de fecha a este próximo fin de semana debido al retraso en asegurar las visas que se necesitan para miembros de la comunidad religiosa para visitar este país.
El P. Patrick Ogah de los Apóstoles de la Divina Caridad, una Asociación Religiosa de Hombres fundada en la Diócesis Católica de Obala, Camerún, en África Central estará
presente para la apelación. La segunda colecta se tomará después de la Comunión. Si desea hacer una donación a los Apóstoles de la Divina Caridad y usa los sobres de la colecta, debe haber un sobre azul detrás del juego de sobres con titulo «Mission Cooperative Plan.» Si no encuentra ese sobre, use uno de los rojos con título
