LA CORRESPONSABILIDAD DIARIA -
RECONOCER A DIOS EN LOS MOMENTOS ORDINARIOS
Podrías comprarle una comida a una persona que tiene hambre o a una persona que acaba de asistir a un banquete.
Podrías pasar tiempo con una persona solitaria o con alguien que tiene más amigos que tú. Podrías unirte a un comité parroquial donde aportar tu experiencia y conocimiento o a un ministerio donde nunca tienes nada para hacer. Todas las acciones mencionadas implican que te brindarás a otros y compartirás tus dones, pero no todas darán buenos fru- tos.
Si un agricultor siembra semillas en un suelo rocoso o plagado de malezas, no puede crecer nada bueno. Pero si ese mismo agricultor siembra semillas en tierra fértil, algún día su cosecha será grandiosa. La semilla puede sembrarse en cualquier suelo, pero no es el acto de la siembra el factor más importante.
Para vivir una vida de corresponsabilidad, debemos discernir cuál es la mejor forma de compartir nuestros dones. Pa- ra discernir se requiere del Espíritu Santo y del deseo de cumplir la voluntad de Dios, no la nuestra. Nuestros propios deseos e ideas erróneas pueden llevarnos a usar nuestros dones de manera imprudente. Cuanto más consciencia ten- gamos de cómo, cuándo y por qué nos brindamos a otros, más grande será el impacto para la gloria de Dios. Dios nos quiere a todos, pero no sin comprensión y discernimiento. Él quiere que brilles como una luz para el mundo a través de tu corresponsabilidad así como Él vino a ti como la Luz del Mundo en el bautismo. No puedes brillar inten- samente si el fósforo no enciende la mecha.

EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS
You could buy a meal for a person who is hungry or for a person who just ate a feast. You could spend time with a lonely person or with someone who has more friends than you. You could step forward to join a parish committee that your experience and knowledge can help, or you can join a ministry where you will constantly struggle to figure out what to do. All of the above actions in- volve you giving and sharing yourself and your gifts. But not all of these ac- tions will bear good fruit.
If a sower sows seeds only on rocky or weed-infested soil, nothing of great val- ue will grow. But if that same sower plants his seeds in rich soil, then the har- vest will one day be great. In all of the soils, the seed is being sown, but it is not the act of sowing that is the most important factor.
In living a stewardship way of life, we must discern how best to share our gifts.
Discernment needs the Holy Spirit and a desire to follow God's will, not our own. Our own desires and misconceptions can cause us to use our gifts un- wisely. The more mindful we are of how, when, and why we are sharing our- selves, than the greater the impact for God's glory. God wants all of you, but not in a way that is without understanding and discernment. He wants you to shine as a light to the world through your stewardship just as He came to you as the Light of the World in baptism. You can't shine brightly if the match does not hit the wick.

MEDITACIÓN DEL
EVANGÉLIO - ALENTAR ENTENDIMIENTO MÁS PROFUNDO DE LA ESCRITURA
Muchas veces los maestros de las escuelas y los catequistas de las par- roquias llevan a cabo la dinámica de invitar a sus alumnos a plantar una
semillita de frijol en un pequeño vaso lleno de tierra. Todos los días los niños cuidan y observan cuidadosamente la semilla hasta que brota la planta. Y al verla crecer se llenan de conten- to. En las lecturas de hoy encontramos algo similar a esta dinámica. Jesús nos asegura que la semilla crece por sí misma con impresionante vitalidad. "Escuchen esta comparación del Reino de Dios. Un hombre esparce la semilla en la tierra, y ya duerma o esté despierto, sea de noche, o de día, la semilla brota y crece, sin que él sepa cómo" (Mc. 4:26).
En el Evangelio, Jesús dice palabras que ayudan al corazón de cada persona a crecer sembrando el bien en dondequiera que se encuentre. Las parábolas son una directa invitación a la es- peranza, a no perder el ánimo de sembrar a pesar del desaliento que muchas veces afecta a los sembradores. Papás, mamás, maestros, catequistas y, en fin, todos los trabajadores que día a día luchan por una sociedad más justa. Jesús hoy nos reta a todos a dejar el desánimo y seguir evangelizando, dialogando y guiando a nuestros hijos, alumnos, amigos y familia. Aunque parezca que la semilla no da fruto, Dios se encarga de que ger- mine en cada corazón. ¿Cómo sientes que germina la Palabra de Dios en tu vida? ¿Cómo respondes ante el desánimo de se- guir esparciendo el bien? La Palabra de Dios nos alienta a ser fieles y tener plena confianza en él. ¡No lo defraudemos, siga- mos luchando por la justicia!
GOSPEL MEDITATION - ENCOURAGE DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF SCRIPTURE
"This is how it is with the kingdom of God." What is a kingdom? Is it the brick and mortar that build up the cas- tle? Is it the expanse of land a king can
reasonably defend? Our notions of kingdoms may be romanti- cized in the modern era, but for the Israelites, a kingdom held deep historical meaning. Thousands of years before the birth of Christ, the Israelites had asked God for a king. After the reigns of David and Solomon, the united kingdom dissolved into factions, and the land was conquered by the Assyrians, Baby- lonians, and, finally, Romans. For the Israelites, a kingdom was something to build, both structurally and civilly. While this had ended in ruin for their ancestors, many of Jesus' con- temporaries longed for the restoration of an earthly kingdom.
Jesus' words in today's Gospel are a radical departure from this perspective. He compares the Kingdom of God to a field, but it appears that the farmer has little to do with its progress. "The seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how. Of its own accord, the land yields fruit." Jesus introduces his followers to a new sort of kingdom, a kingdom where God provides the growth.
There is work to be done, of course. "When the grain is ripe, he wields the sickle at once, for the harvest has come." But for the Kingdom of God to flourish, there are certain things that are outside of our control. We sow seeds of kindness, justice, and integrity and then we must be patient. As shoots of faith appear, we nurture the growth with encouragement. As Chris- tians, our task is not to build the Kingdom of God under our power alone, but to trust in the life-giving movement of God.
