Dear Families:
I recommend the following scripture readings to meditate during this Easter week: Romans 6: 3-11; Acts 10: 34-43; Luke 24: 1-12 and John 20: 1-9. In them you will find messages of hope and resurrec on. In a world that is selfish and kills and destroys itself for drugs and weapons, it is important for us Chris ans to be filled with the hope of Easter and feel the security of our own resurrec on with Christ to a new life. It is for this new life that we struggle and strive every day, guided by the Lord's grace.
Holy Saturday-Easter Vigil: We call the night of Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil. This is the most important night for the Chris an community. It is the night when we are watchful, in the Vigil, because we celebrate and rejoice in the hope of our freedom, life, grace and love. Nothing is going to stop us from being free, because Christ has freed us by his death and by the assurance God has given us, in raising him from the dead. Jesus lives; this is the assurance of our hope. It is the life of our spirit and the love of God that is poured out upon our existence. This night invites us to look forward and upward, not stopping to look at the empty tomb ("do not look among the dead for he who is alive"), but to look within ourselves and feel the risen Christ telling us:
"Peace be with you". Peter had denied Jesus, but finds himself faithfully looking for Christ, and He appears to him. For Peter, he has spent the dark night of his denials, and now he is a new creature, able to give his life for Christ.
This is how we should also feel: Despite our denials, Christ appears to us to say: PEACE BE WITH YOU. This is the grace of Easter: Christ comes to us giving us the Peace of God.
Easter Sunday: A er the death of Jesus on Friday, the Gospel of John presents Jesus' resurrec on on Sunday, the first day of the week. For the Jews the Sabbath was a feast day (Holy day); for Chris ans a new feast day, Sunday, had begun, for on a Sunday the Lord was resurrected. Thus, we see, in this, that God makes everything new. Through Bap sm we are incorporated to God's salva on and things take on a new dimension of respect: respect for nature; respect for everything created by God, for the good of humanity.

Queridas familias:
Para meditar durante esta semana de Pascua les recomiendo las lecturas Romanos 6, 3-11; Hechos 10, 34-43; Lucas 24, 1-12 y Juan 20, 1-9. En ellas encontrarán mensajes de resurrección y esperanza. En un mundo que mata, que se destruye a sí mismo por las drogas y por las armas; en un mundo egoísta, es bueno que los cris anos nos llenemos de la esperanza de Pascua y sintamos la seguridad de nuestra propia resurrección con Cristo a una vida nueva. Es por esta vida nueva por la que luchamos y nos esforzamos cada día guiados por la gracia del Señor.
Sábado Santo-Vigilia Pascual: Llamamos a la noche del Sábado Santo noche de la Vigilia Pascual. Esta es la noche principal de la comunidad cris ana. Es la noche en que estamos en vela (Vigilia) porque celebramos y gozamos en la esperanza de nuestra libertad, de la vida, de la gracia y del amor. Nada nos va a impedir el ser libres pues Cristo nos ha liberado con su muerte y la garan a nos la ha dado Dios resucitándolo de entre los muertos. Jesús vive, es la seguridad de nuestra esperanza. Es la vida de nuestro espíritu y es el amor de Dios que se derrama en nuestra existencia. Esta noche nos invita a mirar hacia adelante y hacia arriba, no detenerse en mirar la tumba vacía (“no busquen entre los muertos al que está vivo”) sino mirar en nuestro interior y sen r que amanece Cristo resucitado que nos dice: “Paz a vosotros”. Pedro había negado a Jesús, pero se encuentra con fe buscando a Cristo, y Él se le aparece. Para Pedro, ha pasado la noche oscura de sus negaciones, ahora es una criatura nueva capaz de dar la vida por Cristo.
Así hemos de sen rnos nosotros: A pesar de nuestras negaciones, Cristo se nos aparece para decirnos: LA PAZ CONTIGO. Esta es la gracia de la Pascua: Cristo sale a nuestro encuentro y PASA dándonos la Paz de Dios.
Domingo de Pascua: Después de la muerte de Jesús el viernes, el evangelio de San Juan nos presenta la resurrección de Jesús en el domingo, el primer día de semana. Para los judíos el sábado era el día de fiesta; para los cris anos comenzaba un nuevo día de fiesta: el domingo, pues en domingo resucitó el Señor. Así hemos de ver en esto que Dios hace nuevo todo: las personas por el Bau smo nos incorporamos a la salvación de Dios; las cosas adquieren una nueva dimensión de respeto:
respeto a la naturaleza, respeto a todo lo creado por Dios para bien de la humanidad.

In many places this day is called Blooming Easter
(Flowery Easter), as the Holy Day that is accompanied by flowers and spring. On one Easter Sunday, Ponce de Leon discovered this land, to which he gave the name of Florida (literally - "in bloom"); hence comes the name of the State of Florida.
May every town and every home in Florida honor its name; to be homes, schools, ins tu ons and

En muchos lugares se llama a este día Pascua Florida, por las flores, por la primavera. En un día de Pascua, Ponce de León descubrió estas erras a las que dio el nombre de Florida: de ahí le viene el nombre al Estado de Florida.
Ojalá que cada pueblo y cada hogar de Florida haga honor a su nombre: ser hogares, ser escuelas, ser ins tuciones, ser comunidades en las que florezca la fe y el temor de Dios, la jus cia y la caridad con el prójimo, una moral y forma de vivir de acuerdo al Señor que resucitó en Pascua Florida.

The Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading is presen ng Suncoast Remake Learning Days .
Suncoast Remake Learning Days, presented by the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading with the support of The Pa erson Founda on, consists of more than 140 events over 10 days hosted by more than 165 organiza ons.
All the events are FREE and designed to be hands-on, relevant, and engaging educa onal experiences for youth of all ages (PreK through High School) and their families, caregivers, and educators.
St Jude Church will be hos ng one of the events.

“Voces de la Juventud” with all the kids par cipa ng in the event. They will also have the opportunity to learn about radio and podcas ng. There will be prizes and snacks.

Suncoast Remake Días de Aprendizaje,
presentado por Suncoast Campaign para lectura a nivel de grado, con el apoyo de la Fundación Pa erson, consta de más de 140 eventos durante 10 días organizados por más de 165 organizaciones.
