What could we accomplish if we weren’t afraid? Fear binds love in chains.
Fear of failure, judgement, retribution, sacrifice, and uncertainty are links in the chain of fear.
An inspired effort to set aside fear to work toward good changes the conversation from “I cannot” to “we can”. The effort is not reckless; it finds strength in community and hope.

CUIDADO LA CREACIÓN
El Jueves 4 de Octubre, la Fiesta de San Francisco, cerca de 100
estudiantes de secundaria de cinco escuelas católicas de San Bernardino fueron al
lago de Big Bear, la parroquia de San José, y
la pasaron muy bien aprendiendo muchas cosas sobre cómo Dios hace que todas las cosas
funcionen en armonía unas con otras y con nosotros los humanos.
Pasamos unas dos horas caminando por el bosque y una hora viendo una presentación de sobre cómo la primera gente Serrana pudieron vivir de
la tierra. También participamos en una oración indígena con
humo y baile para bendecirnos y purificarnos. St. Mary's también tenía unos ocho
miembros mayores que aprendían con los jóvenes. Dios nos
bendiga.
Luego, aquí en St.
Mary's a las 7 pm.
teníamos unos 40 perros, tres gatos, un conejito, un hámster, tres
tortugas, un periquito y más, con sus amigos los
humanos. Todos fueron bendecidos. Dios ama a TODAS sus criaturas y quiere que vivamos en paz y armonía entre
nosotros.

CARE FOR CREATION On Thursday, Oct. 4, the Feast of St.
day, Oct. 4, t. Francis, about 100 middle school students from five Catholic schools around San Bernardino came up to Big Bear Lake, St. Joseph’s Parish, and had a very good time learning many things about how God makes all things to work in harmony with each other and with us humans. We spent about two hours
walking in the woods and an hour watching a slide show on how the early Serrano People were able to live off the land. We also
participated in a native American prayer with
smoke and dance to bless us and purify us. St. Mary’s also had about eight senior members there learning with the youth. God bless us.
Then, here at St. Mary’s at 7 pm. we had about 40 dogs, three cats, a bunny, a hamster, three turtles, a parakeet, and more, with their human friends. All were blessed. God loves ALL his creatures and wants us to live in peace and
harmony with each other.
My parents used an expression that has stayed with me: “Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.” That is surely applicable to us who are disciples of Jesus Christ striving to live the Christian life.
The truth of that expression is at the heart of our joy and satisfaction in life.
People of faith believe our Christian life is important and “is worth doing well.” Those of us who have been involved in athletics know they demand time, priority effort, practice and commitment if we want to
“do well.” Most people want to be successful in what they do, in their vocation and career and in their choice of a spouse. Pick up this spirit for success as a disciple of Jesus Christ! Take time to read again the Sermon on the Mount.
Pope Francis’ thoughts can help us: “Christian life is not a collage of things. It is a harmonious totality, the work of the Holy Spirit. We cannot be Christian in bits and pieces, part-time Christians. We must be wholly Christian and full time.” Be successful!

La Próximo Domingo es el Domingo Mundial de las Misiones
La misión revitaliza la fe, y nuestro apoyo a más de 1,100 diócesis de la misión, en territorios que cubren más de la mitad del mundo, lo hará. La próxima semana participamos con la Iglesia en todo el mundo con oración y apoyo financiero para los sacerdotes, religiosos y líderes laicos que están construyendo la Iglesia y sirviendo a los pobres. Su trabajo y testimonio de Cristo aporta ayuda práctica, el amor, la esperanza y la paz de Dios. "Cada uno de nosotros está llamado a reflexionar sobre este hecho:" Soy una misión en esta Tierra; esa es la

La verdad de esa expresión está en el corazón de nuestra alegría y satisfacción en la vida. Las personas de fe creen que nuestra vida cristiana es importante y
"vale la pena hacerlo bien". Los que participamos en atletismo sabemos que exigen tiempo, esfuerzo prioritario, práctica y compromiso si queremos "hacerlo bien". La mayoría de la gente quiere tener éxito en lo que hacen, en su vocación y carrera y en la elección de un cónyuge. ¡Recoge este espíritu para el éxito como discípulo de Jesucristo! Tómese el tiempo para leer de nuevo el Sermón de la montaña.
Los pensamientos del Papa Francisco nos pueden ayudar: "La vida cristiana no es una mezcla de cosas. Es una totalidad armoniosa, la obra del Espíritu Santo.
No podemos ser cristianos en pedazos, cristianos a tiempo parcial. Debemos ser completamente cristianos y de tiempo completo ”. ¡Sea exitoso! ¡Haga bien!

PRAY FOR OUR CONFIRMATION STUDENTS AS THEY GO ON RETREAT This Friday 68 of our high school and older students preparing for Confirmation go up to Sacred Heart Retreat Center in Big Bear. This is the first time we’re going there. They will leave before supper on Friday and return Sunday afternoon.
These retreats are very important for our young people – an opportunity to listen to God calling them and for them to say ‘yes, I want to follow you’. Let us pray for our young people.
Students, you are strongly encouraged to come to confession on Wednesday evening before the retreat. It’s a good way to “make straight the way of the Lord”
as He comes to you and you go towards Him.
