2- Aims (Module purpose)

Understanding clinical pharmacy and pharmacokinetic tasks and Principles of drug distribution absorption elimination

3- Overall aims of Course:

A- Knowledge and Understanding

A1 -

Memorize Principles of clinical pharmacokinetics with applications in therapeutic drug monitoring, dose

modification and bioequivalence studies.

A2 – Gaining the principles of drug distribution absorption elimination

.

B- Intellectual Skills:

B1- Apply various principles to determine the characteristics of biopharmaceutical products.

B2-To acquire the ability to communicate with patient in community pharmacy.

B3- To be able to apply pharmacokinetic calculation to find different pharmacokinetic parameter such as volume of distribution ,clearance and half life time.

B4-To get the ability to use pharmaceutical calculation in special patient population such as geriatrics ,renal disease and hepatic disease .

C- Professional and Practical Skills:

To acquire the clinical pharmacist profile for handling IV admixture, calculation of amount of energy needed and the sources of TPN

C2- To understand the drug monitoring for narrow therapeutic index drugs such as digoxin, phention, methotrexate & aminoglycotide antibiotics

D- General and transferable skills:

Gain the skills necessary for data collection, administration and communication.
