Overall Aims of the courseBy the end of the course the student should has:
1) knowledge about common ophthalmic diseases 2) skills of dealing with ophthalmic emergencies 3) capability of referring to higher level of
specifications
4) transferable skills of basic ophthalmic care and preventive measures to community
5) integration of progress in ophthalmic knowledge and ability of self-education

5.Teaching and Learning Methods

5.4. small groups attending ophthalmic operative theatre
5.5. a. Clinical rounds: direct contact with clinical cases to acquire the skills of dealing with the patients, history taking, identifying physical signs and interpretation of data to achieve differential diagnosis
5.5.b. Additional Activities:
a. Video presentations of the common ophthalmic surgical procedures b. Power point presentations of
images for different clinical signs and clinical problem solving
c. Attending the ophthalmic out- patient clinic
Making posters, 2 posters for each group and the best three posters will be presented in the Upper Egypt Ophthalmology conference
