ALTAR OF REMEMBRANCE
We will have the Altar of Remembrance this year in the foyer of the main church. Begin- ning this weekend all are welcome to bring a picture of their loved ones and place it on the altar. The altar will remain through most of the month of November up to the weekend prior to the First Sunday of Advent. Please use the following guidelines:
1) Pictures must be in a picture frame no larger than 5” X 7”
(anything larger will be removed).
2) Must have label behind frame with name of the deceased.
3) Must have the name and current/valid phone number of the owner of the picture in back of the frame.

from Unbound preaching at all of the Masses.
Unbound is an international nonprofit founded by lay Catholics grounded in the Gospel call to put the needs of the marginalized and vulnerable first. I have invited them to San Jose to give us an opportunity to put our faith into practice this Advent. I would like you to prayerfully consider sponsoring a child or vulnerable adult through Unbound. It is a great way to follow the Gospel and serve Christ’s needs in the poor. When you sponsor through Unbound, you offer a hand up - not a handout - to a family working to lift themselves out of poverty through hard work, initiative and hope. Your monthly contribution of $36 directly benefits the specific individual you sponsor to help meet their basic needs and achieve self-sufficiency.
Local staff members work with sponsored families on how to best use their benefits to achieve personal and family goals. This may include resources for nutrition, health care, education and skills training, improved living conditions, or seed capital for a small business or farm. Unbound also gives you the opportunity to develop a relationship with your sponsor through letter writing and sharing of pictures. You can find more information about their program at www.unbound.org

Abraham’s Promise is a spiritual support program for couples struggling with infertility and miscarriage. Based on Catholic teaching, we combine the wisdom of modern medicine with the healing power of the Catholic Church. We offer a women’s Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.
Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adop- tive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adoption and fostering. The playgroup meets once a month in different areas of Austin.

Adoption Celebration Mass
All those who have ever made an adoption plan for a child, adopted a child, or those who were adopted are invited to celebrate National Adoption Month at an Adoption Celebra- tion Mass that will be Nov. 29, 2017 at 7 p.m. Rev. James Misko will celebrate the Mass, which will be in the chapel at St. Louis King of France Catholic Church in Austin, Texas.
Anyone who has been touched by adoption or who has a heart for those in the adoption triad is invited to attend the Mass and give thanks for the gift of adoption and to pray for all those whose lives have been affected by it. Prayer Cards: Available in the Parish Office for a donation of $2.00 or $5.00.
Perpetual Certificates are also available. These enrollments make excellent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to educate Seminarians in the Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to parishes for building programs. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women since 1948.
