Hallelujah, Christ is risen! Happy Easter!
Today is the day that the Catholic Church celebrates the sense of Faith, because it celebrates the Sunday of the Resurrection of Jesus or Easter, when Christ triumphing over death opens the doors of heaven.
During the Eucharistic celebration, the Paschal Candle is lit and will re- main lit until the day that Jesus' Ascension into heaven is commemorated.
This feast celebrates the defeat of sin and death, with the resurrection of all temporal suffering it makes sense with eternal life.
It is a feast day of joy, Christ is Risen, the Tomb is empty, humanity is saved, now is the time to embrace that salvation by witnessing a true Christian life.

Easter Sunday
Christ is risen! Our heavenly Father gives us the greatest gift of all: an opportunity for salvation through Jesus, His Son.
CORRESPONSABILIDAD /
STEWARDSHIP
LA CORRESPONSABILIDAD DIARIA - RECONOCER A DIOS EN LOS MOMENTOS ORDINARIOS/
EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS Ven a Cristo
¡Felices Pascuas!
Come to Christ
Life is perhaps God’s greatest gift to each of us. Without life, we would be unable to experience all the wonder of this world, the love of family and friends, and the joy that comes from using our talents and skills. Life itself is more profound a gift than we can even truly contemplate.
On Easter, we celebrate life. For on this day, Jesus Christ conquered death and gave to us the chance for a life eternal.
The wonder, love, and joy of this world does not have to end. Through a life in Jesus Christ, these emotions are height- ened, and we find even greater fulfillment in this world.
Maybe this Easter you are finding yourself open to taking a next step in your relationship with Jesus. This could be the moment you decide to follow Him more closely and take seriously all that he has given you. If so, welcome to the journey, where there are many other disciples on that same path who can help show you the way and share their stories. If not, hopefully it doesn’t take a whole year for this possibility to be considered again. Jesus is alive and waiting to get closer to you. May this Easter season find you and Our Lord getting to know one another in a whole new way. Happy Easter!

An Easter Surprise
Scripture: Matthew 28:1-10
As I am sure all of you know, today we are celebrating a very special day.
Who can tell me what day it is?
That's right! It’s Easter! To begin our lesson today, I have a surprise for you. It’s called Easter Surprise Cookies. Pass these around; there are enough for each of you to have one. Don't eat your cookie until everyone has one.
Now that everyone has one, you may eat your cookie.
Yum, Yum! That was good, wasn't it? Who can guess why they’re called Easter Surprise Cookies? (Let them guess.) That's right! They had a surprise in the middle, didn't they?
There was a jelly bean baked into the middle of the cookie for a nice surprise.
The title of today's Bible lesson is "An Easter Surprise."
But the Easter Surprise in our lesson isn't about finding something that wasn't expected. It’s about NOT finding what was expected. Listen to what happened with "An Easter Surprise."
On the Sunday after Jesus was crucified, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary went to visit the tomb where Jesus had been buried. When they arrived, the stone that had covered the tomb had been rolled away, and an angel was sitting on it. The two women were shocked and a bit afraid.
Can you help me with this Easter Surprise story? Every time you hear the name “Jesus,” say “He is risen!” Let’s practice….Jesus (Kids say, “He is risen!”)
"Don't be afraid," the angel said to them. "I know you are looking for Jesus (Kids say, “He is risen!”) who was crucified. He is not here, He has risen, just as He said He would. Come, see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples."
The two Marys looked in and saw that the tomb was empty and hurried away. They were surprised! They were afraid!
But they were filled with joy. As they ran to tell the disciples, they met Jesus. (Kids say, “He is risen!”) They ran to him and grabbed him and worshiped him.
Jesus (Kids say, “He is risen!”) said to them, "Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there."
Now, that is what I call a real Easter Surprise. They went to see Jesus (Kids say, “He is risen!”) in the tomb, but He was not there. He was risen! That is why when we see our friends on Easter we greet them by saying, "He is risen!"
and our friends reply, "He is risen indeed!"
Dear God, we thank You for this glorious celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus (Kids say, “He is risen!”).
We are not surprised that the tomb was empty. He has risen just as He said He would. In His name we pray. Amen.
Sermon of the Week
for kids John 20:1-9
Today begins the Eighth of Easter
With Easter Sunday the fifty days of Easter begin, ending with the Solemnity of Pentecost.
The Eighth of Easter is about the first week of the Fiftieth; it is considered as if it were a single day, that is, the joy of Easter Sunday lasts eight days in a row.
The evangelical readings focus on the accounts of the appearances of the Risen Christ and the experiences that the apostles had with Him.
In this liturgical season, the first reading that is commonly taken from the Old Testament is changed to one of The Acts of the Apos- tles.
The second Sunday of Easter is also called Divine Mercy Sunday, according to the disposition of Saint John Paul II during his pontificate after the canonization of his compatriot Faustina Kowalska.
The decree was issued on May 23, 2000 by the Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, detailing that it will take place on the second Sunday of Easter. The official name of this liturgical day will be "Second Sunday of Easter or of Divine Mercy".
