From Ashes to Easter…
God so loved the world that he gave his only son. We can help make things new with small sacrifices and generosity now. Put something in your Lent container each day. This will help special Mission Projects. Return your Lent box on Easter. And please pray for the Missions.

MASS INTENTIONS FOR THE WEEK
Catholic Social Teaching Corner:
Thoughts on Faithful Citizenship
Week 8:
Seventh Principle of Catholic Social Teaching:
Care for God’s Creation -
We show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of creation. Care for the earth is a requirement of our faith. It calls us to protect people, the planet and to live our faith in relationship with all of God’s creation. The fundamental moral and ethical dimensions of this challenge cannot be ignored.
Advocating for public policy decisions that will protect the environment against degradation is mandated through the Church’s concern for God’s creation. We are called to support policies that promote clean air and water to ensure that these gifts are accessible and affordable to all.
We are particularly concerned for the poor who have the least influence.

A friend or relative of yours dies - you want to do something to show that you care. Maybe you take food to the family; you try to say some comforting words. Flowers and plants are expensive and they die too soon. What about being a part of a perpetual Clerical Endowment Fund Card for the deceased. Give $5 and your name will be included in the memorial to the family of the deceased.
That person will be remembered perpetually in the Masses of our Bishop and in the prayers of our Seminarians. That same $5 will be used to help educate our Seminarians - future priests who will serve us in this Diocese. Contact Tina Esquivel at the Parish Office for more information.

“Do Not Be Silent”
Day of Action, Mar. 25th
The Social Justice Ministry’s mission is to build relationships with all parish members and to engage all of us to work on the pressures our families are facing today. The US Bishops book, Faithful Citizenship say: “As Catholics we have an obligation to participate in shaping the moral character of society as a requirement of our faith. It is a basic part of the mission we have received from Jesus Christ”.
Many of our families are struggling and suffering alone right now. San Jose is our church family and we care about each of you. We invite you to come and share the pressures your family is facing today. Our Pope has challenged us this time of lent with his words: “Do Not Be Silent”. Alone we can do nothing, but together we can do anything. You matter and we want our ministry to reflect the needs of all our parish members issues to improve the quality of life for all families.
Join us next Sunday, Mar. 25th at 3pm – 4:30pm in the parish hall. This is your opportunity to speak up and be heard.
“No Calles”
