Limpieza y desinfección después de la misa:
Para mantener el cumplimiento con las regulaciones de Covid, debemos desinfectar las bancas y otros artículos que se tocan con frecuencia después de cada misa. Se han colo-cado estaciones con desifectantes en la iglesia con guantes y baldes llenos de toallas empapadas con desinfectante. Por favor, tóme el tiempo después de cada misa para limpi-ar, póngase unos guantes y tome una toalla húmeda y lim-pie uno o dos bancos y cualquier otra área que pueda ha-ber sido tocado. No es necesario secar las bancas porque el método aprobado para secar es al aire libre. La asistencia de cada feligrés es muy apreciada ya que esta es nuestra única forma de cumplir con las regulaciones de Covid. La ocupación para cada misa se ha establecido al 25% de la

Cleaning and disinfecting after Mass:
In order to maintain compliance with Covid regulations we must disinfect the pews and other frequently touched items after each Mass. Sanitation Stations have been placed in the Church with gloves and buckets filled with hand towels that are soaked with disinfectant. Please take time after each Mass, put on some gloves and grab a damp hand towel and wipe down a pew or two and any other items that may have been touched. No need to dry the pews because air drying is the approved method. Assis-tance from each Parishioner is highly appreciated since this is our only way to feasibly comply with Covid regulations. Occupancy for Mass has been set at 25% of building
capac-ity;
We have marked the pews so that it maintains social dis-tancing and also regulates the number of parishioners in the Church. The side doors leading to the Plaza will be re-main open in order to provide air flow. So if you find your-self unable to maintain social distancing inside, please feel free to grab a chair and sit outside in the plaza area. Re-member to disinfect the chairs as you restack them. As we re-open and are given the authority to allow more
venues beyond Mass, religious education and religious ceremonies; I will announce those opportunities via the bulletin, Flocknote and our Web site. Have your Ministry’s schedules prepared and please maintain patience as we work towards re-opening.

FROM THE DESK OF FR. LUKE... DEL ESCRITORIO DEL PADRE LUKE...
The scripture readings for this Sunday take up the topic of Leprosy which over the centuries has been a dis-ease of much suffering and prejudice. What we know is that in all peoples and societies, Lepers have been exclud-ed and fearexclud-ed. On one hand, it is a natural response since the horrific nature of the disease causes repulsion. In ad-dition, the common understanding in Palestine during the time of Christ was that not only was the disease feared for physical damage; but also, they considered it a spiritual punishment which the infected person deserved. As a result, lepers were not only expelled from the Synagogue but also their connection with God was severed.
Jesus heals the body of the Leper but most im-portantly restores the man’s ability to be connected with God. Unfortunately, the man misses the spiritual healing and only focuses on the physical.
How do we make this conclusion? Because after Jesus tells the man to “show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed”… “The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.” The implication is that he did not go back to the temple and reconcile neither the illness of the body nor his soul with the Temple, or church community. Sadly the man’s focus was not on God but on the world. As a result, the man’s proclamation of the event was flawed due to his unbalanced focus on the Body hindering Christ’s minis-try.
The great crowds, which then were coming to Jesus, were not interested in the Good News of the Gos-pel; but rather, they were seeking a miracle doctor for the body. This hindered Christ’s message of redemption and mercy. The Leprosy was healed in the man’s body, but he invited the Leprosy back into his soul.
Where are you at in your understanding of Christ? Do you seek His healing presence in Body and in Soul?

Las lecturas de las Escrituras de este domingo abordan el tema de la lepra, que a lo largo de los siglos ha sido una enfermedad de mucho sufrimiento y prejuicios. Lo que sabemos es que en todos los pueblos y sociedades, los leprosos han sido excluidos y temidos. Por un lado, es una respuesta natural, ya que la horrible naturaleza de la enfermedad provoca repulsión. La implicación es que él no regresó al templo y no reconcilió ni la enfermedad del cuerpo ni de su alma con el Templo o la comunidad de la iglesia. Lam-entablemente, el enfoque del hombre no estaba en Dios sino en el mundo. Como resultado, la proclamación del evento por parte del hombre fue defectuosa debido a su enfoque desequilibrado en el Cuerpo que obstaculiza el ministerio de Cristo.
Las grandes multitudes, que entonces acudían a Jesús, no estaban interesadas en la Buena Nueva del Evan-gelio; sino que buscaban un médico milagroso para el cuerpo. Esto obstaculizó el mensaje de redención y miseri-cordia de Cristo. La lepra fue sanada en el cuerpo del hombre, pero invitó a la lepra de regreso a su alma.

Looking at the Gospel this Sunday in the wider context of our time, on January 28th, 2021, President Biden signed a memorandum directing “the Department of Health and Human Services to review a rule…that [had] cut off federal funding for domestic family planning pro-grams involved with abortions…and ordered the restora-tion of [that] funding for the United Narestora-tions Popularestora-tion Fund (UNFPA).” Essentially, President Biden’s “policy change[,] signals the administration’s support of ‘women’s and girls’ sexual and reproductive health and rights in the US, as well as globally.’”

The right to live is the foundation of all other justice is-sues; which is why, Christ offers to us the resurrection of life. Dependence on the world always ends in nothing; but, promotion for the holiness of life, and for the life to come, does not end. Reproductive health unfortunately represents harm and death for women and society; the right to live is the foundation all other rights for women and men.
What can be done about the scandal of this cath-olic President Joe Biden and his supporters of the abor-tion holocaust?
First and foremost, we need to pray for repent-ance of the pro-abortion advocates of evil and ask for mercy upon their souls. Repentance and thus conversion will bring the end to the holocaust committed the unborn. Next, we all need to grow in understanding of the issues of marriage, family, love, sexuality, reproduction, and related issues. Come to know how these issues relate to society, the Church, and the Gospel. Prudently share the truth to whoever will listen and fearlessly testify to even those who are closed minded.
There is a battle between the light and darkness in our time; this warfront is occurring on the issues of abortion, reproduction, and the value of life. We must actively strengthen our brothers and sisters, and persuade those standing with the darkness to come into the light.

We enter Lent wholeheartedly, body, mind and
spirit through our actions of fasting, almsgiving, and prayer. We practice these disciplines that are aimed at renewing and trans-forming our lives, and to help us unite with Christ in prepara-tion for his crucifixion and resurrecprepara-tion.
Following are the Lenten guidelines:
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and absti-nence.
Fridays of Lent are also days of abstinence.
Fasting is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but to-gether they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices are allowed.
Abstinence is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, consult Fr. Luke.
