Forgiveness
“When you forgive, you in no way change the past - but you sure do change the future.” – Bernard Meltzer This week we would like to focus on Forgiveness.
As we mentioned in previous meditation, forgiveness is one the tools that we need as part of our transformation journey.
Forgiveness for some people can be difficult because of the pain & hurt that was caused. So we tend to hold on to the pain and therefore not allowing God’s love to transform the pain.
Every week in mass we read the Lord’s Prayer in which we ask God to “forgive us our trespasses, as we for- give those who trespass against us”. When you read this prayer in mass and in prayer are you truly asking God to for- give as you forgive? Or are they merely words that we say but don’t enter our heart. My Godmother taught me to read the words slowly to understand better, and allow prayer to become part of me.
As we continue on this Lenten journey, forgiveness will be the key for many of us to be transformed. We allow past hurts dictate our future and many time we don’t realize how this hurt is controlling our lives. Are you fully partici- pating in ministry or volunteering in your community, or are old hurts holding you back? Are you speaking to neighbors, friends and family, or are hold hurts controlling your rela- tionships? Where is forgiveness needed in your life?
Here is a simple exercise:
1. Bring to mind a person who has hurt you or made you an- gry lately. Hold this person’s image in your thoughts, and realize that Jesus is calling you to forgive them.
2. Tell that person in your thoughts how they hurt you.
3. Forgive this person and free your heart from the burden 4. Finally, imagine Jesus in your prayer, & share with him something you have done that has hurt another person. Let Jesus forgive you in the same way you just forgave.
This weeks Prayer (read slowly):
Lord Christ, help us see what it is that joins us together, not what separates us. For when we see only what it is that makes us different, we too often become aware of what is wrong with others. We see only their faults and weaknesses, interpreting their action as flowing from malice or hatred rather than fear. Even when confronted with evil, Lord, you forgave and sacrificed yourself rather than sought revenge.
Teach us to do the same by the power of your Spirit. Amen.

T oday's readings are challenging us to look at God's mercy and kindness. In all three readings we see examples of this.
Moses is shown God's mercy when he is asked to lead the people even though he is a murderer!
God's mercy is constant.
The Corinthians thought they were better than any- one else, but Paul reminds them that they are sin- ners and offers them another chance to know God as kind and merciful
Where are we in these readings? When have you experienced God's kindness and mercy in
your life? How can you share that love and mercy in ways that help others?
Have a blessed week, Sr. Karen Collier

"NOBODY CAN DO EVERY- THING BUT EVERYBODY
CAN DO SOMETHING."
Please join us in pray for the repose of the soul of our beloved Marcella Mehlinger. Marcella was a pioneer in the St. Agatha Community. She in her gen- tle quietness touched the hearts and souls of all those she met during her journey.
Thank you English Eucharistic Ministry for the donation of the meal for our guests. Our guests are grateful that our church fam- ily blesses then each week with a meal. This week they received the groceries that you donate each month and used clothing. Mr.
Rincon brought a special treat of flowers and candied yams and pineapple along with produce..
During our prayer circle one of our guest reminded us that God is in our presence and sometimes we miss seeing him or hearing his message because we are looking for a grand approach from God not that of a stranger or homeless person that we hurry pass or turn
our heads to avoid. This week let us all try to see God's face in the person who is next to us or the person we find hard to look at or acknowledge. In those quiet spe- cial moments of your day try to be still for 3 minutes to hear God's message that He is sending especially just for you. Make it your daily work to be caring and kind to everybody even if you think or say you don't like them kindness and caring can change hearts and lives. Amen
We are still celebrating grateful- ness and gratitude for the success of the Bake Sale a few weeks ago. Prayers, donors and the shar- ing of time, talent, treasure in unity and support equaled this awesome blessing.
These wingless angels and saints blessed us with sharing their God gifts: Azalie N, Yolanda M, Tiara C, Becky W, Geraldine M, Christina M, Victor M, Isabella J, David H, Enrique H, Rolando H, Diamond K, Concepcion, John D, Jose R, Deacon Ricardo, Enri- que R, Martin, Jose H, Richard R, Jesus R, Kevin G and Max.
Jose,, Richard, Kevin, Jesus and
Max are from the Bright Star Charter l Academy. These young men spent their entire Sunday beginning at 6AM and ending at 3PM serving to help make a dif- ference for our church commu- nity. They are members of the soccer team that is in the play offs, please pray for their suc- cess. God is good all the time all the time God is gooooood and He just keeps on blessing St. Agatha Church Community with wing- less angels and saints.
Easter is coming and we again this year would like to give a Tee Shirt and basket filled with goodies to our Saturday Chil- dren. If a group, person or minis- try would like to sponsor a child and provide any of these please contact Margie 323-935 8127.
We have great children that come with their parents on Saturday on occasion we have enough volun- teers to play table games and have fun actives. We'd love to do this on April 19 when we pass out the baskets. If you have time and
" wanna" be a blessing for our children please contact Margie you will touch their lives in re-
turn you will be so blessed that you will " wanna" shout and do a "David Dance."
We humbly thank you for choos- ing to share your God works with our churches outreach ministry S.H.A.R.E.
May you feel the support of God as He gives you the comfort, strength and courage to reach out and be a blessing for others espe- cially those we seem to rush pass in our church community as we enter and exit the church. God loves us all regardless of who we are. All in agreement with this reach out and be a blessing for someone that is not in your fam- ily or circle of friends or sit in the same pew start this today.
This simple act of kindness can make such a difference in the lives of the receiver and the giver/
doer. KINDNESS IS A CHOICE!!! Amen..
Continue to be blessed and be a blessing as you
pray for unity and peace.
