PAPA FRANCISCO PARA LA CUARESMA 2022
Queridos hermanos y hermanas,

WWW.STTERESAKOLKATAPGH.ORG As Abram looks up into the sky, God promises him
that his descendants will be just as countless as the stars.
This moves Abram to put his faith in the Lord. As Peter, John, and James look up to the mountaintop and see the transfigured Jesus radiating like a star, God makes a promise: “This is my chosen son.” The Father asks us to put our faith in Christ: “Listen to him.” Let us fall silent in faith-filled adoration, gazing at Jesus alone. For the transfiguration that we witness is destined to transfigure us:
“He will change our lowly body to conform
with his glorified body.” (Magnificat, Vol. 23. No. 13)
To you, O blessed St. Joseph, Head of the Holy Family and Protector of the Holy Church, do we come in our tribulation. Intercede for us, Most Chaste Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Message of His Holiness Pope Francis for Lent 2022(excerpt) Dear Brothers and Sisters, Lent is a favourable time for personal and community renewal, as it leads us to the paschal mystery of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
For our Lenten journey in 2022, we will do well to reflect on Saint Paul’s exhortation to the Galatians: “Let us not grow tired of doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity (kairós), let us do good to all” (Gal 6:9-10).
“Let us not grow tired of doing good”
Let us not grow tired of praying.
Let us not grow tired of uprooting evil from our lives.
Let us not grow tired of doing good in active charity towards our neighbours.
“If we do not give up, we shall reap our harvest in due time.”
May the Virgin Mary, who bore the Saviour in her womb and “pondered all these things in her heart”
(Lk 2:19), obtain for us the gift of patience. May she accompany us with her maternal presence, so that this season of conversion may bring forth fruits of eternal salvation.
Rome, Saint John Lateran,
11 November, 2021, Memorial of Saint Martin, Bishop.
(visit www.vatican.va for the full text) STK PARISH LIBRARY—Looking for a Lenten

FAMILY HOLY HALF-HOUR— 3rd Wednesdays The next Adoration half hour is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, after the 8:45am Mass at

PARISH ROSARY—We pray as a group of parishioners on Zoom every day at 6:00PM (except Fridays). Please join us this month. You can easily access the link via the parish website or contact the parish office email at [email protected] to email you the link.
The Bishop had asked all parishes to take up a special collection on Ash Wednesday for humanitarian aid that is to be distributed through the Catholic Churches in Eastern and Central Europe. These churches are the front lines of help to the Ukrainian people. We were only informed of this collection the evening before Ash
Wednesday. I sent a notice out via Flocknote and many of you saw and responded. We collected $4,675! Thank you! If you did not hear about this collection and would like to contribute, please put an envelope in the collection basket marked “Humanitarian Aid”.
Let us continue to pray and fast for an end to war and restoration of hearts to God. Fr. Jim

Parish To Offer Word on Fire ENGAGE During Lent The Parish is pleased to announce it will be offering Bishop Barron’s Content from the ENGAGE Library. Bishop Barron and the Team at Word on Fire are recognized as a premier source for Catholic education and Catechesis. Both text and e-mail communication has been sent to all current Flocknote subscribers asking if there is inter- est to receive reflections during Lent or not. If there is a good re- sponse the Parish will subscribe and offer the full array of content in the ENGAGE library to all parishioners who subscribe to Flocknote.
With ENGAGE you will have the ability to have access to all of Bishop Barron’s content whenever you want it. As a Flocknote subscriber, if the Parish decides to continue with ENGAGE post the Lenten trial all Flocknote subscribers will have access to it. For those who have not yet subscribed to Flocknote now is the time to do it! It is very simple.
To subscribe with your mobile phone, where you place the phone number, please enter 84576. Where you enter the message (text) enter STK. This is the key for the Parish. After you do that in a few seconds you will receive a response in which you will be asked to create a Password. That is all to it and you will be enrolled. At this point if you have an e mail you will be automatically enrolled to receive both texts and e mail messages. You can then by a click indicate if you prefer one mode over the other or continue to use both.
If you prefer to sign up via the computer, you can easily do that too.
Go to STTERESAOFKOLKATA.FLOCKNOTE.COM: follow the simple instructions and you will be enrolled. To date we have over 400 enrollees. It is hoped you will participate in this great and efficient way to keep you up to date on Parish life here at St. Teresa of Kolkata.
