PROMISES
Today's liturgy is full of promises. The reading from Genesis promises a final triumph
over the power of sin and a return to a new creation. The reading from Second
Corinthians promises that all who follow Christ will have to struggle. It also promises,
however, that we can persevere if we but recognize that Christ is within us, renewing
us daily, and giving us the courage and the strength we need to endure. The Gospel
promises that doing God's will makes us "family" with Jesus, who forgives all sin and
triumphs over evil. Today might be a good day for us to make some promises as well.
We can promise to stop kidding ourselves about our own tendencies to selfishness and
sin. We can promise ourselves to believe--really believe--that while we are not sinless,
we are forgiven. We can promise ourselves to combat evil and sin by acting as sisters
and brothers not only to the Lord, but to one another as well.

Graduates of St. Anne’s
The Mexican-American Catholic
Federation is pleased to offer
six $500.00 scholarships to six
high school graduates that are members
of St. Anne's Parish and will be
graduating high school, and attending
a college or university in the fall.
Application and instructions are available by
texting a request to Eva at (209) 625-7625.
The deadline for submitting
an application is June 15, 2018.
Catholic Fellowship
ST. ANNE’S SENIOR LUNCHEON
will be held on Tuesday, June 26th at 11:00am
at the Lodi Moose Lodge on Woodbridge Road.
The menu will be Baked Chicken
with Scalloped Potatoes.
The cost is $12.00 per person.
If you are not on the call list,

All reservations have to be made the Friday before
the luncheon, as the cook needs to plan ahead.

A Small group of women and
men come together after Friday
morning 8:00am Mass to tidy
our church. Our tasks are
usually completed within an
hour. Once a month we meet as a group to bring
up any problem, socialize, and pray together.
