St. John Neumann Parish Virtual Walk to Jerusalem.
Join us for an exci!ng virtual walk from Bangkok, Thailand to Jerusalem!
Once again, we will be taking a virtual walk to Jerusalem this spring. We will start the walk on Monday 2/1/2021 and the first week will end on Sunday, 2/7. We will only count miles during those 8 weeks. Par#cipants will report their week one miles on 2/7. Please report your miles for each week no later than Monday evening. We will con#nue
walking each week through 3/28 and our final report of miles will be due no later than 3/30/2021. We will be taking a different route than in previous years beginning by walking to Charlo<e and flying into Bangkok, Thailand. We will proceed to walk through north western Thailand, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, and into Israel. We will have holy sites to visit along the way and a variety of
adventures, such as a perhaps seeing elephants in southwest Asia and a camel ride in the desserts of the Middle Eastern countries. I know some of you have ancestors from these countries, many have immigrated from one of these countries or have visited there. Your pictures and stories of Catholic sites from these countries and/ or about the culture will be welcomed. Please be sure to send them as early as possible and at least a week before we reach that country to the email below.
Any one of any age may par#cipate
Par#cipa#ng and following the weekly reports online of our adventures may help you feel less bored during this pandemic. The walk is virtual because each person or family completes the ac#vity individually and then the miles are totaled each week from all par#cipants. A mile equals 20 minutes of moderate ac!vity, including walking, swimming, par#cipa#ng in the online exercises classes or even mowing the lawn. Par#cipants record their mileage for each week and report it to the Tour Director’s e- mail ([email protected]). Children and youth can par#cipate, so your children can contribute miles from many sports they play. We encourage you to check the website for further informa#on about the program and reports on our progress.
Weekly reports will be uploaded under the Parish Nurse sec#on of the parish website. Because of the pandemic we will not have a drop box in Gillin Hall
The Crisis/Outreach Ministry will be helping the Food Pantry of the Chris#an Assistance Bridge in Blythewood. This organiza#on helps the needy in many ways in addi#on to the food pantry. They help with rents, electric bills, finding jobs, counseling and other services. You can
find more informa#on on their website: h<p://

this week. If you would like a weekly reminder to report your miles, I will be glad to do that. Please note that reminders are not meant to make you feel guilty if you don’t have any miles in a given week. Even your tour director has #mes when achieving miles is difficult!
We will NOT be doing the Daily Readings via Phone Monday, January 25th.
Further informa#on will be coming.
Please join us for the Daily Readings on Mondays, at 10:30 am. Please call 718-819-1710, pin 041-8936 to join in. Daily Mass readings and prayers for each day are at h$ps://
