Our Parish School

pastor of a parish which has such a fine school. When I visit classrooms, there is always active learning taking place. When I celebrate Mass for our students and teachers, their participation is respectful and inspiring. When students call out to greet me when they see me outside of school, it gives me great joy. And when I interact with the school’s teachers, administrators and staff, I encounter persons with a passion for what they do.

St. Edward the Confessor parish school is an integral part of St. Edward the Confessor parish. Our parishioners, even those who do not have children in our school, are very interested in the school and eager to promote it. The school, for its part, is a big draw for people to participate in the life of our parish. As Thanksgiving Day approach- es, let’s give thanks to God for our parish and our school, and pray that they may continue to flourish together.

Recientemente tuve el placer de participar en el Monarch Summit, una presentación sobre el estado de nuestra escuela parroquial. El director Tom Waszak (visto conmigo en la imagen de arriba), junto con sus subdirectores, dieron un relato claro e impresionante de la excelente condición de nuestra escuela. Los padres de familia de los estudiantes estuvieron allí para hacer preguntas interesantes y asimilar la información.

Estoy muy orgulloso de ser el párroco de una iglesia que tiene una escuela tan buena. Cuando visito las aulas, los estudiantes siempre están aprendiendo algo nuevo. Cuando celebro la Misa para los estudiantes y maestros, su participación es respetuosa e inspiradora. Cuando los estudiantes me saludan o me ven fuera de la escuela, eso me da mucha alegría. Y cuando interactúo con los maestros, administradores y personal de la escuela, me en- cuentro con personas apasionadas por lo que hacen.

La escuela parroquial San Eduardo el Confesor es una parte esencial de la parroquia de San Eduardo el Confesor.

Nuestros feligreses, incluso aquellos que no tienen hijos en nuestra escuela, están muy interesados en ella y an- siosos por promoverla. Family (Children) Faith Formation Registration is Still Open

FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION (for Baptized Children in GRADES 1-8) is an intergenerational pro- cess that may begin as soon as a child enters first grade. Parents and children study together at home and then come to Sunday Sessions from 9:00-10:30 am, once a month, for further enrichment and hands-on experiences.

ELEMENTARY GRADES 3-6: After First Communion. Faith formation is more than just preparation for the Sacraments! Children and parents come together once a month for intergenerational Faith Formation education and experiences from 9:00 am – 10:30 am in the school building. In between the sessions, materials are sent home for further study.

It is our tradition for parishioners to bring canned and non-perishable items (see list below) to donate at Thanksgiving Mass. The items collected will be given to Family Assistance Ministries (FAM), our partner that distributes food to the homeless and poor at San Felipe de Jesus Chapel on Fridays. Please do not donate items that are past their expiration dates. Thank you for your generosity.
