My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Too often our prayers are limited to asking God for things we need or want. And that is good. But praise is also
an important part of prayer and praise helps to lift our hearts to a sense of wonder as we come before our God.
We gather at Mass to listen to God's Word, His message for us. We come to praise and thank God for the many
things that we are not even aware of. We come to partake in the Eucharist...the Sacrament the Lord Himself
left us to nourish us and to strengthen us through our journey of life, as we become that which we
con-sume...Christ Jesus to the world.
Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been given you through baptism. Then witness your faith like
disciples and believers throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers for you and for your dear ones. May the
good Lord bless you with wisdom, health, and peace. Please pray for me.

Con demasiada frecuencia, nuestras oraciones se limitan a pedir a Dios cosas que necesitamos o queremos. Y eso
es bueno. Pero la alabanza también es una parte importante de la oración y la alabanza ayuda a elevar nuestro
corazón a un sentido de asombro al encontrarnos ante nuestro Dios. Venimos a Misa para escuchar la Palabra de
Dios, Su mensaje para nosotros. Venimos a alabar y dar gracias a Dios por las muchas cosas que ni siquiera
so-mos conscientes. Veniso-mos a participar en la Eucaristía... el Sacramento que el Señor mismo nos dejó para
nu-trirnos y fortalecernos a través de nuestro camino de vida, a medida que nos convertimos en lo que
consumi-mos... Cristo Jesús al mundo.
Tomen tiempo para meditar y refrescar la vida del Espíritu que se les ha dado en su bautismo. Entonces den
testimonio de su fe, así como lo han hecho los cristianos en cada siglo. Cuenten siempre con mis oraciones. Que
el Señor los fortalezca con sabiduría, salud y paz. Por favor, oren por mí.

Do you know what to do if someone is choking?
Choking is one of the leading causes of accidental
death, but many people do not know what to do if
someone is choking near them. If a person is
cough-ing, grabbing his or her throat, or passed out with no
explanation, he/she could be
chok-ing. Utilizing abdominal thrusts, also known as the
Heimlich maneuver, could prevent suffocation.
Par-ents should be knowledgeable as to how to perform
this maneuver, and if possible, should attend a CPR
training course so they are prepared, in the event
that a child or adult is choking. For more information,
