For children under 7 years of age, the sacrament is celebrated the FIRST Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm. The parents must register in the parish office at least 4 weeks prior to
the baptism. Both parents and godparents are expected
to attend one catechetical session in advance, on the Wednesday before the baptism, at 7:00 pm.
SACRAMENTS OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION
Before being fully initiated into the sacramental life of the Church, children over the age of 7 will need catechetical prepa-ration through the RCIC process. Teenagers and adults will par-ticipate in separate RCIA processes.
CONFIRMATION and COMMUNION
For those already baptized, preparation for these Sacraments will take place according to the person’s age and knowledge of the Catholic Faith. For further information contact the Office of Faith Formation Program.
MARRIAGES
Couples should contact the parish office at least six months in
advance to make the proper arrangements for the Sacrament
of Matrimony.

Solamente para los niños menores de los 7 años de edad, se celebra el sacramento el SEGUNDO y el CUARTO domingo del mes a las 2:00 pm. SACRAMENTOS DE LA INICIACIÓN CRISTIANA
Con el propósito de participar plenamente en la vida sacramen-tal de la Iglesia, los niños mayores de los 7 años de edad, nece-sitarán prepararse en el proceso de Iniciación Cristiana Para Niños. Los jóvenes y los adultos se preparán separadamente en el proceso del RICA.

MATRIMONIOS
La pareja deberá de comunicarse con el despacho pastoral y hacer su solicitud minimo seis meses antes de la fecha de la boda, para entrevistarse con el sacerdote e iniciar la prepara-ción matrimonial.

National Vocations Awareness Week, Nov. 4-10, 2018
As Catholics, we firmly believe that God has a plan for our lives! He calls some to marriage, some to the priesthood, and others to religious life. Some remains as generous single people. Fully living our own
vocations—and teaching young people how to discern God’s call—is a serious duty, but also a joyful one. Today begins National Vocation Awareness Week. During this week, please pray about how God is calling
you to live your vocation more deeply. Encourage the young people in your life—children, grandchildren, students, and friends—to be open if God calls them to priesthood or consecrated life.
At Our Lady of Fatima church we will pray the rosary each day this week for vocations. November 5 -November 10 at 6:00 PM in the Church.
There will be a Bilingual Mass on Friday, Nov. 9th at 7 PM for Vocations.
Semana Nacional de Concientización Vocacional, Nov. 4-10, 2018
Como católicos, creemos firmemente que Dios tiene un plan para nuestras vidas. Llama a algunos al matrimonio, otros al sacerdocio y otros a la vida religiosa. Algunos quedan como solteros generosos. Vivir plenamente nuestras propias vocaciones, y enseñar a los jóvenes a discernir el llamado de Dios,
es un deber serio, pero también alegre.
Hoy comienza la Semana Nacional de Concientización Vocacional. Durante esta semana, ora acerca de cómo Dios te está llamando a vivir más profundamente tu vocación. Anime a los jóvenes en su vida (hijos,
nietos, estudiantes y amigos) a que estén abiertos si Dios los llama al sacerdocio o a la vida consagrada.
En Nuestra Señora de Fatima estaremos rezando el Rosario esta semana por las vocaciones.

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Dear Parishioners,
It’s that time. It is time to fall back an hour ending Day Light Savings Time that began on a March 11th. It is time for midterm elections. It is time this month to remember all saints as well as all the faithful departed. It is also time to be aware of the vocations of those who are in seminaries, convents, monas-teries and those who need to answer the call in their lives to serve as a priest or religious. Someone asked me this past week to read from Ecclesiastes 3 during a Mass. I will quote a few words from this selection, “There is an appointed time for everything, …a time to be silent and a time to speak.”
This month of November is a time to speak out. First, let us speak about all the saints that our Church has recognized as good examples for us to learn from and imitate. They are praying for us. Let us as well remember all souls especially the souls in purgatory who need our prayers. Second, let us be speak out by using our voice to vote for people in the midterm elections who will be most likely to support Catholic values in government. For information about the elections see last week’s Tablet pg. 5 and/or check the Board of Elections, 212-487-5400 or www.vote.nyc.ny.us . Third, let us express our support for vocations. There are people whom we know and those whom we are not aware of who are being called to be priests, sisters, brothers in the church. Let us pray for them that they may answer God’s call to serve as workers in his vineyard. Fourth, let us pray for the eleven victims in the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh. Let us pray for their families, the man who did this violent act and his family as well as our country. Let us speak out, pray and work for a church and world that will follow Jesus’ commandment to love God and neighbor.

Queridos Feligreses:
Es la hora. Es hora de retroceder una hora que termina el horario de ahorro de luz que comenzó el 11 de marzo. Es hora de elecciones parciales. Es hora de recordar este mes a todos los santos, así como a todos los fieles difuntos. También es hora de estar al tanto de las vocaciones de quienes están en semi-narios, conventos, monasterios y quienes necesitan responder el llamado en sus vidas para servir como sacerdotes o religiosos. Alguien me pidió la semana pasada que leyera Ecclesiastes 3 durante una misa. Citaré algunas palabras de esta selección: "Hay un tiempo designado para todo, ... un momento para guardar silencio y otro para hablar".
Este mes de noviembre es un momento para hablar. Primero, hablemos de todos los santos que nuestra Iglesia ha reconocido como buenos ejemplos para que aprendamos e imitemos. Ellos están orando por nosotros. Recordemos también a todas las almas, especialmente a las almas en el purgato-rio que necesitan nuestras oraciones. En segundo lugar, seamos sinceros al usar nuestra voz para vo-tar por personas en las elecciones intermedias que tendrán más probabilidades de apoyar los valores católicos en el gobierno. Para información sobre las elecciones, vea la página de la tableta de la semana pasada. 5 y / o verifique la Junta de Elecciones, 212-487-5400 o www.vote.nyc.ny.us. Tercero, expre-semos nuestro apoyo a las vocaciones. Hay personas que conocemos y personas a las que no conocemos que están siendo llamados a ser sacerdotes, hermanas, hermanos en la iglesia. Calendar Meeting
There will be a meeting of all parish groups on November 28 at 7 PM in the Rectory to develop the parish calendar for January through June 2019. Each group is requested to forward their proposed dates for meeting
and activities to the Rectory before November 14 and send a representative to the meeting on November 28.

SCHEDULE FOR VETERANS DAY
On Sunday, November 11th is Veterans Day, this day we remember all the dedicated men and
women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. This year Veteran’s Day will observed on Monday, November 12th. We will have both Masses at 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM. However,
the church will be closed after the 8:30 A.M. Mass. The Rectory office will be closed all day.
